I can't find any reference on the web to help me purchase a typical canvas folding bathtub (like the one used in a M.A.S.H. episode bought mail order from Albercrombie and Fitch. I just installed a well with a handpump at my offthegrid cabin in Idaho and really want to take a soak! Help!

The only ones I could find are in museums. It doesn't look like you can buy them anymore. I even checked the army surplus stores online. Have you thought about trying an inflatable plastic wading pool? It wouldn't take up much space. The only downside is that it needs to be inflated, but a foot pump could do that pretty easily. Just a thought.

Look on Craigslist for a claw foot tub. I got a nice one that way.

What we have been using for now and it works quite well is a very large tupperware storage tub, say about 20 x 30 x 20in high. It is a fairly tight squezze and you have to sit crossed legged or kneal but it works. and you dont use alot of water. We fill it with 4-8 inches of warm water and have one or two jugs of water sitting to the side for rinsing. To me it feels better than a shower and if your short on water you can just share :) Also its very inexspensive.

If you're willing to think outside of the tub, er box, they make portable, collapsible doggy baths like the ABO Gear Dirty Dog Bath Tub. Google shop it.
36" diameter, 14" tall, 61 gallons capacity, and costs about 60 bucks.

This might work for you. It's a 48" round pop-up pool. Costs under $17. There's a 60" one also, but I think it might take a lot to fill.

Oh, it's so exciting, isn't it?
You're gonna love your new bathroom. We just finished ours and all I can say is WOW! the luxury of it all. My husband said, 'We should've done this 5 years ago. WHAT were we thinking?'
What you are looking for is called a 'Swing Door'. I found these wherein they will fit either a shower or tub. You'll have to call to get specifics.

Rent a pressure washer rated at least 5000 psi. Don't use bleach as it will degrade the fabric. Just dabble some regular clothes detergent all over and use hot water for the source of chinabuye.com washer. Wash and rinse till no more soapy water is coming off. Air dry in the sun and you're all set. The pressure washer will even remove the mildew.

I actually have an antique folding bathtub in storage - it is in the original box marked Gold Medal Racing Folding Furniture - very good condition when it was stored. I can get it down and take pictures if you are interested! email mvstellinga@nethtc.net Thanks- Vickie
