Neighbor gave me a Homelite pressure washer, Honda engine. Found a manual online, says to use pump protector after use. Some liquid I guess.
Never heard of it, anyone familiar?

And another thing..I'm new to these things. When it's running, if you don't have the trigger squeezed and water spraying, the engine is really working, like pressure is backing up. Is that the way it is?

Pump protector = pluming antifreeze It has a pressure relief valve ,unlike a electric Model that has a shut off switch. It’s better if you shut yours down if you are not spraying for a long time .

I run windshield washer fluid into mine just until it comes out the wand to protect it from freezing.

So it's just to keep from freezing water? Then in my non freezing garage I don't need to bother.
Thanks guys!

Quoting: paulz So it's just to keep from freezing water?
It is also a lubricant for the o-rings; makes the pump last longer, or so I have been told.
