I used 1x3 pine furring strips in my cabin walls.

I need to seal it. I would like to keep it looking the same so I am interested in something clear with no sheen.

I am trying to find something that is natural and has no VOC. I used Vermont natural coating on my house floors and won't use it again (it is a very very weak product)

Any recommendations?

Minwax Polycrylic dried perfectly clear, no color cast at all. It would not be called a 'natural' product but it is low odor & water based and available in different degrees of gloss or mattness. I've used it for years and like it a lot.

I've always used tung oil or minwax. but some folks will have a sensitivity to them.

tung oil is a longer lasting, breathable, flexible finish ... 'spensive tho. my personal favorite.

minwax is great on plywood where it won't expand and contract. it's basically a plastic finish. durable. I'm pretty careful applying to avoid bubbles.

you could use beeswax if you have environmental sensitivities. and i understand the big boxes have new "no voc" finishes. might want to head down and have a look.

i'd be interested in hearing about the new stuff... go ahead. be the guinea pig. smile.

your vermont coating might be perfect in this application. no wear ... do you have any left?
