I noticed a while back that a lot of our family and friends in Montana don't have carpet. They have braided rugs that they just toss in the wash. I looked in department stores, but they cost an arm and a leg! So I asked about how to make them. Turned out my husband grandma was an epic maker of crocheted rugs. She used T-shirts. I went on to write a little article about it. Making these requires NO electricity!

I'd welcome feedback on this article, and any other ways you make rugs for your cabins, because these take a while to make!
