In designing a solar system for a cabin, how do you choose which voltage to use (12V, 24V, or 48V)?

I just installed my first system and i used a consultant.....He said 48V was the way to go and I forget all the reasons, but there were many....
There are a lot of guys on here that will know why, but i think 48V is the way to go.....

48. Yup.
Inverter is more efficient. Wire is cheaper. Easier to run batteries in series.
24 is still okay for small/mid sized systems.
12 for tiny.
