I'm researching living off-grid and am considering living in northern Pennsylvania, at considerable elevation. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Good Luck!
Since the marcelus (sp?) oil find there has been a bit of a land rush in NE PA., and the oil companies are beginning to sink wells in once lovely country side. NY state is dragging its feet a bit on the oil drilling, so you may be better off there, or head further west.
