Hi folks, I am new to this group but a long time off grid homesteader. I live in a 14x14 solar powered cabin I designed and built for under $2000. I use a solar composting toilet, solar water heater, solar oven and food dehydrator also of my own design.
I have been off grid for about 15 years. I own a small business and because I have no house payments or utility bills I can work when I want as I want. I don't work at all in winter and use that time to write books, songs and other projects.
You can see my cabin for ideas here:

Very Nice! I'm interested in your battery array. Do you use some kind of battery isolator? Looks like you inverter is 12v, so I'm assuming you switch from battery to battery somehow?

Nevermind, I see that you wired them in parallel, not in series.

Boy that is cute. My cabin is currently a 60 year old 18 foot trailer painted to resemble a watermelon and a plan to build something like what you've got. Your place is one of the few I've seen with a loft, which I want. Love the porch. Thanks for posting the pix!

Even though my cabin's already built, I bought Lamar's $5 plans mentioned on his website. Definitely worth a look for ideas, as there are lots of other things besides building the cabin structure itself included.
