My lady’s spinning shack is done

Redoing the outhouse with metal roofing

...aaaand built a garbage can crib
Mt Bear will have to work a bit harder for dinner

The squirrels are now serious with gathering
Finally caught Zippy on the job;

Yeah, it's been a sweet summer, even though the wildfire smoke was a bit daunting.

It's always a hope.
Our hope is to inspire ya'll's hopes, whether living off grid, or getting to that get-a-way.

Guess I better catch up;

7am
Sipping java, fiddling around on the PC
Look out the window
Huh, looks to be a wolf.....

AAAAAAA…FREAKING WOLF!!!!

At the east end of our place
Grab the phone
Out the cabin door, shorts, boots, phone
No time to forage for the Nikon
Wolves don’t generally dawdle around here, unless they’re onto a good ground squirrel hole.
Look several horrible pics

I really should have the Nikon nearer at hand

Hi Gary,
Hadn't seen any recent posts. Hope the winter is going well for you and your gal. I'm 22 months off retirement, so slowly starting to think about more time I will be able to spend at the cabin away from the city....and looking forward towards uninterrupted time where I can actually get some good projects done instead of trying to squeeze everything into a quick weekend before headin back to work. Hope all is well.
Cheers.

All is well, ol pard
Snowing like crazy right now.
Just a foot accumulated last measure, but looks to be another 5-6’ winter…or 10 (shudder)

Hey, I did a vid for a buddy of mine in Alaska
Might as well share (I’m no videographer, that’ll become obvious early on)

Hi. DH and I enjoyed your video.
It was nice to hear the two of you speak. To put a voice to all the years we've been enjoying your cabin adventure.
DH loves your workshop. That is going to be our next project in 2021. First we need to finish our sun porch.
Thank You Gary O for the wonderful video.

Well, tell him to enjoy the build

I started out enjoying it,
then got crazy with the framing…time frame framing…

git ‘er done mode

Falling off the roof, git ‘er done mode

Hanging on tree limbs to loosen the back, git ‘er done mode

But

It was worth it

Next vid will be in a few days

Blowing snow, digging out
Over two feet in two days

Woke up to it

First thing I did was rake off the ragtop Jeep

I really didn't want to find out how much she'd hold before she caved
