Hi, I just came across your site and find it very interesting. I live in a cabin on an island in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
I don't live off the grid, but still seek to simplify and keep it green when I can.
I'm glad I found you, and will enjoy following your progress. We started with a tiny cabin on a tiny lake over 30 years ago, when our children were still young, and what fun we had! Now we're retired and still enjoy living far away from the crowds.
Our nearest Walmart and McDonald's is a 10-minute ferry ride and 60 road miles away, and that's exactly how we like it. We had the slowest of dial-ups until late last fall, when the miracle of DSL came our way. I had thought for a few years about starting up my own website but it was impossible then. I still have a lot to learn, but I really do love putting it together.
