We must say goodbye to 2012 in a few more days-it was a good one for many reasons, but time doesn't stand still...so here's hoping everyone has a healthy, prosperous and adventurous 2013! Cheers!

Curious who gets to welcome the new year at their cabin and how you plan on doing it? Have a great time WOOHOO!!!

While I'll be at the cabin, my loved ones can't be with me. But, I'll be thinking of them..........as I fall asleep about 10 on New Year's Eve. At least I won't have to suffer through a hangover.

Me, personally, I say good riddence to 2012! I'm hoping for a better 2013.

Unfortunately I'm going to home-bound for New Years. I have family coming on New Years day. But that'll be fun, too.

We've never been ones to do anything special on New Year's Eve. Last year I spent New Year's in hospital by Bob's side. I forgot all about the new year. A nurse came in with a plate of goodies and I just stared at her with a blank face - then she explained it was New Year's Eve. *S* We were very blessed in 2012 so here's hoping 2013 will be equally as good. I'd say 2012 was pretty good for you and your family Trollbridge. *S*

Wishing all the small cabin forum folk a happy and healthy 2013.

New Year's Eve this year will be at the cabin. At 12midnight I want to outside celebrating winter! If the moon is out, I may go for a moonlit Crosscountry ski. 2013 here we come.

That's what I want to do too country girl...minus the cross country ski part (I use to downhill ski) but don't own cross country skis.

I want to play outside in the snow under the moonlight...maybe make a snow angel or take an exhilarating ride down the hill in the backyard on a toboggan, that sounds like fun...cept the walk back up may do me in A bonfire would be nice ...

The reality for me is that, like Martian, I probably will be falling asleep at 10 and waking again around 3 or 4AM,in a daze, to feed our newborn baby while gazing out the window at the moonlight shining down on the snow..... in my head I say a welcome to 2013 and thank God for all the wonderful blessings in my life

Hattie...I hope you and Bob have a special evening together no matter how you spend it! Reflect and celebrate how fortunate you were

PA Bound...here's to 2013 being a better year for you!

And silverwaterlady...I hope the drinking folks know their limits and stay off the roads too...drive defensively...hope you have an easy drive to your destination

I have been away from my pc for a while and want to say a Happy, safe and healthy New Year to all. TB, many congrats on your precious little one! We are surviving our winter in the Motorhome, not so terribly bad. I must say I do so look forward to getting started on a more permanent cabin home. I consider myself blessed to be able to be more detached from all rush and relax and enjoy a more simple life. Can't wait for early spring and garden planting season. Our laptop has been down and can't power the desktops, nor have room for them so I will settle to check in by phone for now.

Tnky03...

Good to hear from you! I'm glad you are doing well. How is your daughter? Probably too soon for much news, but I hope the mass is not growing. I'm assuming you are having a good time making your new cabin plans and still collecting materials...any remarkable finds lately??!?

Thank you for the kind baby wishes. She is asleep in my arms...I should put her down in her crib, but it is so hard to part with her.....besides that, she is really warm, so yes, I am guilty of leaching her heat...but she doesn't look like she minds

Thanks for asking. She has been having some pain, to have repeat scan in Jan. hopefully no growth, actually, I pray is gone. Few finds, best one sliding glass doors, real nice. You hold that sweet baby all you can, will be grown far too soon.

2012 had some good and bad points for us. We both changed jobs and a lot less drive everyday. We also paid off all our debts but the house and had many adventures along the way.

My mom was very lucky and survived a heat attack and quit smoking and even convinced my dad to quit as well.

My best fishing buddy wasn't as lucky. In 2011,..3 months after retiring , he found out he had cancer. In September of 2012, he lost his long, had fought battle.
We are looking forward to 2013 and hope it turns out to be the year which we find our Ozark land and start our cabin adventure.

We're heading out to the cabin tomorrow morning for 3 days. Some good friends are meeting us out there in their camper so that will be great fun!! New Years Eve will be at a local community center with a bunch of desert folks, mostly 50-60+ just like us We set up a casino and take turns playing dealer, it's kinda corny, but good clean fun. And then we have an auction where everyone buys each other's stuff... hehehe. There is a good amount of liquor consumed, I think it's the desert air or something............
Happy New Years, to all!

We are going to the cabin for New Years like every year! Hate the parties and most of our friends are bar flies anyways...we used to be but we have grown out of that....we always have a great time by ourselves cooking t-bones and lobsta tails on the grill...mmmmmmm! Happy New Year to all of you! See you in 2013!
