I have enjoyed viewing pictures of other cabins an wanted to share a picture of our cabin in Wisconsin. We spent time last weekend at the cabin and really enjoyed the snow and solitude. The whole family went sledding and snowshoeing. It took quite awhile to get the place warm with the woodstove but once it was going it was quite comfortable. Looking forward to the next visit.

Great looking cabin! What's the square footage? Do you have interior photos?

We have the same experience with our log cabin. It's 22x26' with a 3/4 loft and just the wood stove for heat. It can be as cold as 20° F inside the cabin when we arrive and it takes a while to beat back the chill from the logs. But once it gets warm, it stays nice and toasty. We were there for a full week over Christmas and that was long enough to get it fully heated. But wow- if we spent more winter time at the cabin, we'd have to put up a LOT more firewood! We burned through a sizeable portion of our wood pile the last trip.

The cabin is located in Vernon County.
Here are some of the details. The cabin is Amish built using 10" x 6" cut logs. It is fairly small and measures approx 16' x 30'. The interior has one bedroom plus 1/2 loft. Since purchasing the cabin we have added electricity, a wood stove, and an incinerating toliet.
We haul in all of our water. I have attached some interior pictures.

 hi! So fun to see the interior photos of your beautiful place and the outside in the snow-gorgeous! I bet you are really enjoying your place. Your floor up in the loft is pretty-is it pine? I love all the knots.

Yes the floor is pine. I beleive 1" x 6" planks. It is really nice to get there and relax.
Not sure if we will head up this weekend or not.
Are you visiting your this week end?

We fouind the same thing. The pile of wood went down quite a bit and I had to get up during the night to add more. I assume you also haul in water given that your place is unheated when you're not there?

We were going to go this weekend but have decided to stay home. There's that BIG football game between the Vikings and the Packers that my husband (Vikes fan) doesn't want to miss and a parents meeting we just found out about for our son's drivers ed class on Sunday...who plans these things? Obviously someone who doesn't have a cabin to escape to-phooooey!
It is amazing how much wood it takes to heat all winter...I had no idea we would go through wood so fast!
