Man, you gotta love that warm wood look.
As a side note, my wife's sister thinks we should have painted the interior all white for "a fresh, clean look". She even sends me pictures she sees in magazines of "cabins" that are painted white inside. About as inviting as a Mrs. Sees candy store with florescent lighting...
I have held it for years as my firmest opinion that she ain't right in the head...

That’s the best, IMO
But
White has its place
It can lift a low spirit
And white emits a beautifully stark contrast to places, gardens, seascapes, anywhere with natural fauna, like none other;
But
Prolly not the best choice for snow country

Ya know.... You guys are geniuses' (even if I cant spell it)
The wife and I have been pondering some sort of chair in the corner by the window. In picture 3 and 7 of the original post, you can see a folding camp chair in that spot that I drug out when friends visited.
We can't seem to find one that we both like. Nothing has 'grabbed' us yet. But after seeing those nice rockers in Toyo and JohnA's cabins, I think that might be just the thing.
I'm slapping myself here that I haven't ever thought of a rocker.

there's a lot to like here. but my favorite is the wood stove corner. nice job. 5 years. i haven't even tiled mine. tho the tile and the grout have been sitting next to the stove for 4 years.
my winter bedroom I meant to spray white semi transparent over the pine. but so far I'm still liking the pine. it is darkening so i'll probably spray it. right after I finish that wood stove tile.

Anything beats drywall in a country atmosphere. I don't mind the white and long as there's not too much of it.
As an aside, that's one short floor lamp in the first photo.

Kev... Sorry, I just now realized that you asked a question 2 months ago.
The fireplace stone is a product called GO-Stone from Native Custom Stone Inc.

Very easy to work with. I have never done stone, or even tile on a wall in my life, but I found this easy going. It is a lightweight material that puts up just like tile. It can be put right over drywall if you want, but I used Hardi-board.
You butter the back of each stone with tile mastic using a notched trowl, and just set in on the wall with firm pressure and a little wiggle.
Cost was pretty reasonable. IIRC, I had about $300 in materials for the fireplace. Best part, I looks like stone. It feels like stone. if you tap it, it sounds like stone. It's obviously some sort of molded cement product, but I challenge you to find two identical unit in my fireplace.
