Thanks ICC. That’s what I will try. I picked up some H1 ties. Another possibilities is to screw from below using a structural screw like a timberline k but I will try it with the h1s and the ceiling joists first and go that route as long as I can make it work in the space. I am not sure exactly how much bearing I have with the ceiling joists yet, at least 1.5 inches for sure. I could always raise them up but as you said that becomes a problem then for a ceiling.

I put one hurricane tie in today to try it out. I will need to remove the soffit panels. There is just not enough room to nail in. The one tie took forever trying to do it from the inside reaching over the top plate . The good news is this “room†has been there for at least half a dozen years (at least 2 owners ago) and it is all still square and the walls haven’t push out at all. This will be much better.

After looking at this thread dozens of times over three months and almost commenting several times, I finally decided what the best course of action would be. (remember the Korean Shed from Hell) and (what would Steve Holmes do)
Tear that f**king disaster down and start over before someone gets hurt, or worse.
