My Shurflo pump has been running well for six seasons at the cabin but recently it has sounded different. Still pumps up to pressure, but takes longer. It sounds and feels like the motor is running more slowly and somewhat struggling, makes a more rumbling noise. Maybe a bearing going bad? No luck finding obvious solutions online.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Could be bad bearing or the brushes going bad if it has them. There so cheap there prob not worth repairing.

Brettny is likely right but.... and probably too obvious to mention, but it wasn't the first time I experienced something similar.... have you checked the inlet screen (presuming your pumps has one) ? Mine plugged up and though I would still get water the pump sounded "off" and eventually the rate of flow slowed.

I had a pump that wouldn't shut off and maintain pressure. Took the end off the pump end, there were bits of debris , that had got under the poppet valve. cleaned it up, worked again. Take it apart and have a look., not complicated. old243

Well, totally dead now. Replaced the 110V pump with a 12V one plus battery. Much quieter! I may just stay with the 12V version and get a AC/DC power converter. Will dissect the dead one later and see what I find. No debris in the line, however.

Just had a shurflo 120v pump die. Haven't looked at it yet. Its one of the new revolution pumps. But I like the 12v better. Thinking to go the ac/dc converter route also. You only need 7 amps.

Creeky, let me/us know if you find a converter that doesn't have any parasitic current draw. Simpler and no lights is better.

We bought a converter when we got AC at the cabin. the 12 volt pump has been working great for 2 seasons with it. heres a link
