The 2019 SEMA show starts tomorrow. Here's a preview of one of the hot rods that will be on display, a '59 Chevy like none other we have seen.

https://www.hotrod.com/articles/first-look-sema-2019-move-gallery-inside-las-vegas-co nvention-center/

I think it is kinda cool.

ICC, this is a CABIN forum!

Copied from the list of forums page----
"Off Topic
Discussion about everything else - life, humor, health, entertainment, computers, internet technologies, etc."

It's not politically, sexually or religiously offensive so I don't see a problem. Plus the topic title is fairly descriptive. If cars (hot rods) are not one's thing, one does not have to click or read. I don't believe cabinbuilder will have a problem. If he does he can remove the topic and reprimand me. Seems to fit "entertainment" and "etc." okay

Lifelong hot rodder here. My heap. Supercharged flathead Ford.

I worked in speed shops in the late '70s, went to the SEMA show several times, great fun.

Oh so cool!!! (I've opened a can of worms!)

An American Bantam, right? Extra cool!

A Jimmy? 4-71" Or? A friend has a '29 highboy with a typical for the 50's flathead Merc with Offy heads, triple Stromberg's, etc. Mated to a C4 A/T of all things.

Dave, Dave, Dave, don’t you think we could all use a truck for our cabins or land?
P.S. I wish it were mine but it is somebody’s work truck near where I work.

I miss the hot rods but the wallet will only allow one hobby at a time. Someday I will have my dream, 41 Willey's all steel A gasser set up with a blown Hemi.

I will give respect to electric vehicles and the torque is amazing off the line but I'm sorry nothing will replace the sound and feel of 8 cylinders of pissed off blown thunder!!!

I have had a lot of S-10's. Here is my 1998 S10 SS. My 1971 Chevelle. 496, Hilborn Injection, 2 stages of nitrous. Glass front end and bumpers. My Father's 1968 Camaro with a 327 and a powerglide that's mostly original.

My truck is very unique. American Bantam, built in Butler Pennsylvania. There's a Wiki page on them. Only 500 pickups made. Smaller than a Bug. Mine was hot rodded in the '60s, the mill is a Ford V8-60, the baby flathead. I built a new one, added the huffer (Eaton), replaced the 3 speed with a 5 speed and added 4 wheel discs and 4:11 gears. Around here if you're not doing 0-60 in about 5 seconds a new Prius will run you over.

It's fun go kart for around town errands, not comfy on the highway.

A Willys was on my dream list for a long time too. Hope yous comes true. One nice thing, as I get older (I'm 62), construction work gets harder and harder each year, while working in the garage is for the most part comparatively easy and enjoyable. I'm looking forward to this winter when the cabin projects are over and I can get some much needed garage time in.

I have one other, which I have owned for 40 years. Not really a Corvette guy anymore but I keep it around for the memories.

Dad's street rod from the 60's--- the only photo we have from that time. Front fender of an Austin Healey 3000 in the left corner. Belonged to his brother and ended up being mine later. I like many types of cars and trucks.

Bitchin'. East coast style, channeled with no chop.

I was actually on the hunt for a Model A pickup when I bought my pckup (5-6 years ago), had one picked out, test drove, was about to hook up the trailer when the Bantam popped up. It was just so unusual.

My cabin truck, old Blazer, supercharged of course..

That's a beautiful car!!

Dad would be smiling! Two of my grandkids have a project car replica underway. Most of the parts are collected, the frame and running gear done with a flathead V8 newly done over. The body is being worked on slowly. It will be kept quite close to the original with exceptions made for a 12 volt alternator, a C4 automatic and A/C.

Also a hot rod nut, but no pictures of my last ride. In high school, I have a 1973 Nova SS Hatchback in which I installed a +.030 454, holley street dominator manifold, 800 CFM Holley spreadbore manual secondaries, TH350, B&M Starshifter, B&M shift kit, 12 bolt 3:31 rear axle.
This is not the car, but it is identical, stripe, color year etc. I had original rally wheels, these rallys are from an earlier model year.

My older brother have a 1951 Chevrolet 3100 truck and he is the cartaker of my grandfathers mustang he bought new in 1966. The Mustang has 47K on it now.

Flatheads are great for supercharging, overcomes the poor ports and limited valve lift.

My 1969 El Camino

Nice! Big El Camino fan here, '66 and '69 being my favorites. In fact when I was looking for a cabin truck 5 years ago I hunted around for a 4x4 El Camino. Couldn't find one to my liking, too busy to build one so I ended up with a Blazer.

Here's my old '69. Sold it, and several others that are worth big money now, for $4k.
