I wish I came upon this forum a few months ago. I recently completed my 2nd cabin build after I sold some land with my 1st cabin on it

Yeah. This one is a little bigger, but I still made a few mistakes, or â€œimprovisationsâ€ as I call them.

Really good hunting. Thatâ€™s why I built the cabin - so me and the kids can spend weekends hunting whitetail and coyotes.

Nice pics! I'm just finishing up a similar design, to be used for workshop and storage. Even the colour scheme looks similar! I'm using dark grey trim, charcoal roof steel, and cedar stained plywood with batten strips. Insulation details are not yet finalized. Care to share ceiling/roof insulation and venting details?

I used 2x12 for the trusses and R28 insulation with insulation stops at the ends. I think the R28 only swells to 8.5 inches so there is a little room between the roof sheets and insulation for air movement. The ends of the roof is covered with soffit. The tin is set on 1x4 straps with â€œrhino roofâ€ between the straps and the 7/16â€ sheets.
My ceiling is 3/8â€ OSB with vapour barrier between the bat insulation and the sheets
