For the 60 or so years now I have been wearing underwear, plain old white Jockey shorts, or briefs I guess, have been the norm. In fact some may even date back that far. So when my supply started running low a year or so ago, on my infrequent trips to anyplace that sells underwear (Costco), I started keeping my eye open for replacements. Surprisingly non were to be had, only boxers, or, come to find out, boxer briefs. News to me, but the isle was full with them.

Finally last month, with no place to turn, I bought a pack of boxer briefs. Black no less, which may mean something.. Skeptically I tried a pair on a short trip to the cabin, and I must say, I'm impressed. While I don't know all the ins and outs of underwear design, they seem to do the job, no loss of support, and no wedgies as the old briefs are known to do. And, as I found out later while working in the garage and the mail lady came by and said 'nice speedo', they can be worn around the house sans pants.

So if you find yourself in the same predicament, give them a try. Or perhaps you already have. I may have behind the curve on this.

No offense, you are definitely behind the curve. Been wearing boxer briefs for more than a decade. Love 'em!

Real mountain men don't bother with underwear.

Lol, those Duluth commercials are great.

I used to go Commando years ago, unfortunately as the body ages what's supposed to stay inside until you let it out doesn't always happen.

Speaking of naked though, love showering and walking around the cabin nude. At the city house can't open the door or even go near a window.

Yeah, I am a big guy (6'1" 300lbs) and switched about 15 years to boxer briefs and never went back. First ones I got were from Ollie's Discount. They were for hunting and had "scent blocker" Wife said scent blocking part never worked, but liked the style. I mostly have ones from Duluth now because they are tough and last a long time.

No one here has mentioned Saxx. They are boxers with a built in pouch in the front for the boys! Now these are life changing...especially when active. They essentially eliminate any chaffing. Not sure if they are just a Canadian thing or not but I love them!

Bought more black boxer briefs yesterday at Costco. Wife really likes the look. I'm thinking about wearing another pair on the outside, over my jeans. Then I can swap them as needed.

I went into a sports store to buy some long underwear. I was told they don’t sell them. I asked what folks do I the winter to stay warm. She said they wear under layers. If I wouldn’t have asked she would have watched me walk out. Probably thinking I’m more weird then she thought.
I did end up using size xxl. Although I weigh 170 pounds. I don’t like wearing insulated pantyhose.

Still digging these boxer briefs, bought more, slowing throwing out my old jockey friends. I do wish they still had tags though, instead of printed labels you can't find. Same with T shirts.

Anyway, just wanted to announce that I have officially joined geezerdom. Yep, bought suspenders. At Tractor Supply. Love 'em. I don't know if my butt muscles shrinking or my gut getting larger, or both, but keeping my jeans up lately was getting to be a real problem, even with a cinched belt.

Plan to get more. Now I guess I need to find some tools to clip onto the suspenders. My old friend wears overalls, which I have tried (not his) but never really cared for. He has pens, pliers, pencils, screwdrivers, knives, rulers, tape measures and everything else under a foot long sticking out of those things. Walks hunched over.

Dude, I have worn suspenders going back to my 30's. Love them, no more belts. I dont do the clip on, I use button on. I buy the buttons from either Carhartt or Bucksaw. Hammer them into each pair if new pants. Which are Carhartt double front work pants, these are heavy cotton, double front for knee pads and has the ruler pockets etc. Without suspenders, they work their way down. I usually go 1/5innch wide with the "X" back VS "Y" back. By the time I have my keys in pocket, wallet etc, these are heavy and migrate south, suspenders fixes that.

OK, to stay on topic, I have been using plain old white briefs all my life, but after reading this, I may entertain a change up or at least try.

As long as we are on comfy underwear:
I have found Hanes makes a thick pair of socks, just called Hanes Ultimate Fresh IQ. Makes you feel like your walking on air. Never used anything else since these. Last so much longer too. I use white over the calf ones.

Yep... went to suspenders a couple of years ago when I switched from blue Jean's to Wrangler Riggs Ranger, double knee cargo pants as work pants. They are heavy weight canvas like material.... like Toyota, began having trouble keeping them up with a belt. Loving the wide clip on suspenders!

On underwear, we do a lot of hiking and backpacking (or did, then we bought a cabin... hope to get back at it next year!) So needed underwear that don't chafe and are hydrophobic to expel water/wick it away and they can't ride up on you! Cotton briefs are the opposite, get sweaty and chafe you bad on long days. I use both Columbia sportswear undies and another brand I can't remember. For Christmas a few years ago my wife got me some David Archy boxer style briefs... tighter than regular cotton boxers but they also have a built in "pouch" for "big Jim and the twins!" Very comfortable and are a silky hydrophobic material. Won't wear anything else now!
