AWESOME! T-H.coming along nicely.You got some nice toy's to play with too.I'm putting on a 12 in 12 pitch roof too.(hope I can still work on such a steep pitch)Not so nimble on ladders and roofs anymore.

Looks great! What's the footprint of the cabin? Does the 900 sf include the loft space?

yes....... w/ loft included,
still pecking along on it, hope to other gable covered in and get house wrap on this weekend. Then windows and log siding.

THANKS.....i got the house wrap on , except for the gables. And all of the floor joists for the loft area.( which will be the ceiling joists for the down stairs bedroom /bath and mud room)Those 2' x 10's floor joists in the 95 deg heat in a cabin with a metal roof felt like a oven!!!!! I was way tired last night.

BTW---i still have to trim the bottom of the house wrap, the 2" x 12" PT---that i wrapped the plate with will be , what the log siding sits on.I will put a small piece of L shaped drip edge on top of the 2 x 12 PT plate. Then start my 1st piece of log siding on top of it.

after a H O T---- 10 hour day in 95 deg HEAT!!!!!!!, all the windows are in .
Other gable end is sheathed. Al the house wrap is on!!!!!
Removed lot of temp. bracing inside , now i can walk around inside. :-)
tired as heck today!!!!!!!!!!!
got to go to the big city to buy doors and locks.......and then i can camp out !!!!!!!!! LOL

looking fantastic Turkeyhunter :) we are also getting anxious to stay the night at ours....maybe next weekend if it's dry enough. we are still plugging away at it only one more side of the roof to shingle and we will be done for this year.

lots of insulation :-)) and knotty white pine walls and ceiling.
next phase---
floor half loft with 3/4", knee walls, install 2 doors, ruff in elect. and plumbing......go spend rest of the summer in Maine.. :-)
working on the camp in this heat /humidty is not fun:-(
btw---how much longer till fall?????
holiday today no work at camp.......
yard bird, pork ribs, boston butts=pulled pork...... now i need a NAP!!!!!

I know here in NE TN it gets very cold in the winter (lots of pipes freezing). If you are adding lots of insulation, it must be the same in your part of GA?
Knotty pine walls and ceiling should look great.
Summer in Maine! Always wanted to go in the fall; see the coastline and eat good seafood. If I could make text bold and underline, I would tell you I think you are blessed to be about to do this at your age in life. You have the opportunity that most of us only dream about. God bless and be careful.
My sister-in-law lost her job as a physician assistant and unable to find a job. She has been to Montana several times and stayed on a ranch taking 10day trips up into the mountains. When they found out she wasn't working, they asked her to come out and work for four months this summer. At 58 and not knowing if the chance would arise again, she jumped on it. Once she got there, found out she was in charge of the kitchen. Good thing she is an amazing cook (almost gourmet). We have gone to her house twice in the last two weeks for specific recipes.
Husband and I are in charge of the in-laws (88 and 84 with one having had a stroke and the other a broken neck with pins). But, if airfares drop, we will go out for three days in July. I have never been to Montana and can hardly wait. Found several cabins on ebay for sale in Montana but it just would never work. Live in Tennessee and have cabin in Montana......

we worked from around 7:30 am till noon today..........so HOT!!!!
92 deg downstair's in the caibin---it was 91 deg here tonight at 8:50pm........so i know it got close to 100 or more today.
got the 3/4' floor down with constuction glue, and# 8's nails
put up some OSB on the walls, white/yellow pine T & G will go over this. Also installed another support under the foor -just to be safe with all the extra weight. In this pic you can see some of the temp. bracing which will come out soon.
the ''loft room " will be around a 12' x 14' with 3 ft knee walls
