We are currently building a very small and simple log cabin and I had no idea how many different areas I had to consider when choosing paint!!! I am hoping someone will be kind enough to give me some options! This is what I have so far! We have a black metal roof, white trimmed windows and I wanted a gray stain on the logs in the blue/gray family! My husband is asking what color gutters, soffit and window trim! I hope that is all I have to choose colors for! I appreciate any advice you could give!!!! Thanks!

Colors and design are such a personal thing.
I suggest you go through various publications and/or online pics of cabins and cottages, etc. and cut/copy-paste pics of stuff YOU like. Then you can comfortably sit, consider and share.
Going with a theme is better than not, it ties things together.

Personally I wouldn't stain the logs any color at all.

If that wasn't a choice I'd go for my favorite default color combo ever - clay primary, burnished slate secondary, and white accessory. Looks good on metal buildings, looks good on sheds, I don't see why it wouldn't work on a log building.

Regardless of what color you put on the walls, I'd probably paint everything you listed there white, it should contrast nice against both the roof or the wall color...and it matches the trim you already have.

To each his own, but I think a log cabin should look like, well, logs, natural or a transparent stain in some tan to brown color. Remember you can't ever unpaint a log cabin.

In our neighborhood the cabins are all natural, ranging from light brown on the unfinished or varnished ones to dark brown on the ones that were creosoted years ago. Trim colors (windows and doors and such) are mostly brown, red, or green.

A cabin, IMO, should blend into the surrounding woods, not stand out from it with bright colors.

If it was me, a no brainer, Behr Stain or premium ultra paint in N150-7 chocolate therapy for that national park look. I'm kinda biased.
Ok, green roof too, lighter green, closer to tree folaige vs the real dark dreen. Combo would look like this.

We kept ours pretty much "as is" and used clear stains or walnut stains for a bit of contrast............I would have liked dark framed windows, but too expensive for me!

zorro - I like your color combination. What kind of wood is used for your siding?

Natasha Jacobs, Google Graber Post Indiana. They have a color-scheme tool you can use. It's for metal siding, and color choices are somewhat limited, but I think you'll find it to be useful for what you want to do.
