First time posting here...

I have a 12 by 16 bunkie I need to move 6 or 8 feet to allow room for a larger cabin. I will probably use pvc piping to roll it. I’m trying to figure out the approx weight of the bunkie. It is one story, hip roof with asphalt shingles, vinyl siding, and drywall interior. 2 by 6 walls. 2 entry doors and 4 windows. My google searches gave ranges from 2000 lbs to 11000 lbs.
any ideas?? Thanks.

It’s to early in the morning (for me) for math.
If the earth is firm and fairly flat moving 200 sq ft of cabin should be easy enough.
What’s it sitting on? Is it on a pad? Pilings?
I’m guess heavy pvc 4” to 6” (the gray stuff).
A good chain fall, heavy winch, combos of both and some muscle.

I have moved a shed like that.
Years back I had a smaller maybe 1/2 the size shed I had to move in rough terrain so I took it apart and reassembled it...wasn’t that bad.

The ground is flat and rock hard.

It’s sitting on six or 8 small concrete pads, barely a few inches above the surface. I’m not sure how deep they go. Wasn’t sure how to jack it up to minimize damage to drywall etc. I’ll have to pour new pads for it to rest on.

I had to move our small little cabin because of our big cabin. I made a pad back in the aspens for it.

I have a 12ton Mini Ex with 6k of lifting capacity and it could barely lift one end of the cabin up about 6 inches. That was enough. It's 10x15 and had to weight close to 6 tons. I used 6 ton floor jacks put under the skids to put oil field pipe to roll. I also had to use a 30 ton chain winch to pull it back to where we wanted it. It was quite an undertaking to move the little thing, but it was worth it.

How is knowing the weight going to help much? Either way it's going to rely on how easily it's going to slide on what ever surface its on.

Slide it on greased/wetted skids?
Make sure the grain of the wood is pointed the 'go' way.

Rolling something heavy on PVC pipe almost never works as envisioned. The tiniest obstruction can stop it in its tracks.

It's usually easier to just drag it with a few planks underneath it.
