I’ve got a consul propane fridge for my Skoolie conversion. Been working just fine for years. I recently left town for a month, shut it off as usual. Returned and started it up just fine. Noticed it wasn’t cooling well for a few days, turned it up and left to work. Came home and it was cold in the boxes but burner was out. Now no matter what, it just will not relight. I took everything apart, soaked in acetone, sanded to like new. Burner is clean, orofice is clean, lines are clean…now no propane coming in at all, holding down the bypass for 20+ seconds and not even a smell… just replaced the tank regulator and it started and ran for 2 minutes, quit, then would start manually with the bypass, now nothing at all, no propane coming in.… could it be the thermocouple? I’m running out of ideas!

Thermocouple do go bad and there fairly cheap but usualy if your holding the light/gas valve/button in its bypassing the thermocouple. Does the pilot stay lit when your holding it?

In the older ones. Not sure about the newer ones. But maybe worth a try. The refrigerant would separate from the oil inside the tubes. Take the refrigerator n turn it over n all around to remix it. Good luck

A few times after I replaced the regulator on the tank, the pilot would light when I held the bypass down, with weaker and weaker flames each time I tried, then go out as soon as I let go of the bypass button… now it won’t even light when I do this though. No propane smell at all no matter how long I prime it… I’m thinking a blocked line but where?! I’ve checked all the lines in the back of the fridge…
It is the only appliance running on that tank, and I suppose it’s possible the oil separated but wouldn’t the pilot light when depressing the thermocouple bypass regardless of the oil mixture?
Thanks for the responses!

Are you for sure and positive there is lp in the tank? I had similar happen when my cylinder was really low.
Try another appliance on the line?

Definitely a full tank. I’ll try another appliance, good idea. I’m thinking it might be the line from the tank into the fridge… maybe

Well, if the regulator is known good it takes tank pressure to about 10inches water column for a typical appliance. That is what, only about 1/3psi?, but steady.
What kind of tank/cylinder? The refillable cylinders have those safety valves on them that can be problematic. There is a fair bit online about how they work and how they give fits, usually because they have been opened too fast so the valve thinks there is a leak and shuts off.
When I re-open mine (I shut everything off on leaving) I open slowly, a 1 thousand 1, 1 thou 2, etc count for each hand twist, to fully open.
Shut your off, let sit a while and re-try that way?
Otherwise, if that is ok, there is the Crack a Line/Fitting test BUT you Do Not want any source of ignition surprising you!

O if the pilot hardly or dosnt light its def a propane supply issue. Some times with a long big line it can literally take minutes of holding the pilot light down for the gas to get to the pilot.

How long did you hold it down?

You could remove the line after the regulator and turn the tank on to check for gas. Are you sure you didnt knock out the OPD device on the tank? Some times if you open the tank valve to quick it will shut off fuel supply. I got a nearly new Webber grill by someone doing this.

Here's a longshot, but our propane fridge quit working 'cause the mice ate the bit of insulation around the boiler tube at the back of the unit. We replaced the missing insulation with rockwool and added wire screening to the top and bottom of the tube shroud to discourage further "removal." That tiny bit of insulation fixed the problem completely. I only worry that fix won't work for you since you say the pilot won't light now.
