Hi all,
I'm sorry if I've posted this in the wrong forum.
I've just joined this site today.
I'm thinking about buying a small piece of land with some inheritance I got. I love the idea of living off grid. And have done to sobe extent before. In a static caravan. With power from a generator that ran off red diesel. And calor gas bottles.
Anyway. What I'm wondering is what buildings are acceptable without planning permission? What are the loop holes to get round things? I've heard a static caravan is something you need permission for? But I would guess a caravan that you tow. So one on wheels, you could live in without any restrictions? As it's considered not a permanently structure?
Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

This depends very much on your local county laws and potentially covenants. Without more specific details of your locale, you likely won't receive any useful information here.

Caravans and Calor Gas was the giveaway. 
Check local, no sense in believing much from online forums on this subject. It varies from county to county here let alone international differences in rules and levels of rules enforcement.
