Does anybody here have experience with Discover Dry Cell Solar batteries? I will be replacing my old bank of FLA. Comments appreciated.

No.

Why would you consider them instead of either (A) sticking with flooded lead-acid or (B) graduating to a lithium technology like LFP?

This page indicates they are AGM batteries with their special "dry cell" naming. This page too. AGM appears on those pages and in the URL for the pages. Their video shows they are constructed like other flat plate AGM batteries.

Nothing new there, except their nomenclature.

How big a bank needs to be replaced? What type of FLA were used in it? How well did the old one perform? How long did it work satisfactorily?

They are available locally and one of the possibilities I am considering. Yes, they are AGM. I want to get away from FLA because I am uncomfortable - without proof, simply speculation - with the thought that it might not be great to have little bubbles possibly containing lead sulfate within a domestic setting. AGMs are a possibility I am considering.

As long as you are not overcharging them the lead sulfate should stay in the batteries. What comes out is hydrogen gas.

Hydrogen and oxygen gasses. A little bit of acid splatter/vapor especially if they are equalizing. IMO, FLA batteries belong outside the habitable space. For that matter, I don't care much for AGM inside a habitable space either.

Agreed. I would never have either inside
