Someone said American kestrel/sparrow hawk. But, it doesn't seem to me to be a 100% match.

Good call on the female Eastern Bluebird! I think the blue tail in the photo is the defining characteristic.

Here's a more recent, better shot. She appears to be very curious about the camera.

I think it's a male, based on the vibrancy of its colors. Apparently at one point in time they were pretty rare, but the species has since rebounded.

This one is curious about the camera. He'll fly by and look into the camera as it takes the picture. I think he sees the red light go off, and that's what interests him. He'll do it for several minutes, and then I won't see the bird again for a week or two.....and then he decides he's curious again.

Bluebirds are Sooo Kool
Friend at church made us some B-bird houses, we put up 3 at the edge of the meadow and woods at the cabin last spring.
We had 2 pairs take 2 houses. The big surprise was about 3 weeks ago when we stayed outside at sunset of a beautiful evening. The 2 pairs of adults flew in with lots of youngsters, All Together! Took a perch on the jack-pine next to the birdbath and pretty much took it over like a bird-gang. They were Joyous! We've never seen such a thing before and never expected them to be here this late in the season
