….my wife and I just bought this. It’s from 1936 and needs some special attention. I’m not seeing a lot of extra time to spend at the cabin. Wish it was in as nice of a location as the cabin.

Wow, that looks magnificent!
If you dont have to sell the cabin to help pay for this place maybe wait a year?

My house is also from the 1930s. When I bought it it didnt look nearly as nice as that..but I bought it for the location. You don't even want to know the amount of work I have done here. At one point you could stand in the basement and see the bottom of the roof along with not having a square inch of drywall left in the place. I hope yours dosnt need that much attention.

I talk about selling our cabin from time to time and everyone’s always shocked that I’d even consider it after all the hard work time and money I’ve invested.
But I explain.
I loved every minute of it (okay maybe a few minutes of doubt crept in here and there)
It was and is an investment
If I find a full time home someday that brings me the same peace and joy the cabin does I won’t need it anymore.
My goal has always been to retire someplace I wake up and be in a part of nature…just like I do at the cabin.
So if we find a full time home with what that cabin gives us….we won’t need the cabin anymore..
That’s my theory anyway

Our property is an investment for us also, that we can enjoy in the mean time. Here everything that dosnt have a heart beat is for sale.

Looks like a very cool property, and the outside doesn't appear to be in bad shape....Good luck with your project...
I would have a hard time selling my cabin, but seeing what a neighboring property just sold for had my mind wandering for sure.....I also just bought a farm and have my attention here, but I still find myself in a more relaxed state at my cabin and it brings my friends and family together so I think its worth it.
