Hi All. I’m buying this cabin which has been abandoned for 30 years. It is amazingly good condition with only one log needing to be replaced. The bones of the roof are good and the pillars have only sunk a bit in all this time.
The only thing I’ve never done is chinking and as you can see in the pix there are some fairly large gaps.
So, how do I chink in such large gaps???

You nail strips of metal lath where the gaps are and use that as a backer .Youtube channel “the outsider†recently did one and has a good mix for the chink mix too .

I would make everything level and plumb prior to chinking. The fact that the corner sunk like it did but the center of the wall didnt makes me think it's on a poor foundation. Make sure all your wood is well above the ground and out of the roof drip line.

Yep, leveling is the first step and something I’m comfortable doing. I’m just chinking stupid.
