Hi.

I’m hoping I can rely on member experience to solve this problem. I am recently living in a new place with a well water system. The previous owner did not maintain the softener system well, and it caused the toilet bowls to become stained. The stain is not the typical orange or copper color from iron, but rather a greenish streaking on the surface. Some of it dissolved away using CLR. Then another common lime and scale remover was used, but without good results. Also, I tried straight vinegar. Before I invest in anymore products, I thought I would ask the community what has worked well for them. By the way, the toilets were fed hard water without any kind of filter. Recently, they were plumbed with water from the new softener system.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Sounds like the po didnt maintain the stool well either.
Maybe it is time to just replace it?

Look for a pumice stick, also called a pumice stone. Used wet on a porcelain toilet they are magic. Beats chemical cleaners any day. Google it.
