Let me tell ya... One hell of a roller coaster ride... Not only physically but mentally, emotionally and psychologicaly too. The revelations about the cancer alone is one serious mind fuck. Don't know how to place it. Gotta deal with that.

Fwiw, on my last home recovery (4x cabg) I was able to choose a 'telemetry' monitoring for daily reporting. It worked out great, minimized trips to doc and also the 'visits' by the case nurse.

Hi Steve_S wow what a roller coaster ride health wise. Glad you are feeling better.
Since I had my grand dogs at the cabin this summer I become aware of a fungus that is in the soil. Dogs get very ill if they inhale the spores. People can get it as well. Many doctors will diagnose patients as having lung cancer or pneumonia because they have not heard about Blastomycosis. Here is a link.

I guess a good time for a further update on the Recovery.

I am breathing a whole lot better and no longer coughing those dang Oyster's which believe me is no fun "AT ALL".

I now have an appetite, well since getting out of the hospital in any case AND I am starting to put weight back on nicely and am up to 130.8 Lbs from 112.6, and goodness me, there is a little roll on my Tummy. LMAO.

Muscles are also rebuilding as well... I'm now able to walk down to the driveway to the road & back without difficulty (still feel it though) when before I used to be able to get 20' if I was lucky. House to road = 350' or so, so that's a big change. The worst part is the legs which really get crampy sorta... It's like when you exercise a LOT and then you can feel the muscles, & tendons bitching (I can live with that ! cause it's a good "ouch") I did get over excited and do too much and learned my lessons too...

Hired a helper and Managed to clear stuff out of the house and clean it top to bottom + repaint the interior, took 2 weeks but a huge mental / morale boost.

Have medical follow-ups over the next 2 weeks, tests, x-rays & whatnot but the "Last Batch" of 7 IV's is here and that's it, the PIC can come out after that... CRAP that stuff is krazy expensive, $1200 for 7 IV's ! Thank goodness it's paid for by the system...

I'm finally coming to terms that I am NOT Terminal - geez, what a mind blast that was and readjustment to thinking about things. Many have suggested I go after the "quack" but I am NOT interested in lawyers & courts as I had more than enough of that with the Divorce/Custody nightmare. I can have a peaceful life for what's left of it.... BESIDES Now I have New Projects to think on and old "put-off projects" to get to !

Timing sux though as the weather is getting less pleasant. I have got to finish the Toolshed before the fluff, it will be hard for me alone but I have to get it done. This is where it is at since October of 2021 when I tore the ligaments out of my right shoulder and had to stop. A couple of extra hands & 2 days would get it closed, so it will take me a week at least by myself.

Nice 'bones' on that shed, Steve; you do good work
When I had c-diff (2016?) I went from about 212 to 165'ish, rotten way to get back to my high school fightin' weight, 'cept I had no fight left in me..... Sad thing was that the 'brat diet' the doc had me on did nothing to counter the cause (the c-diff) and was a starvation diet . Slow coming back from big weight loss, though it does happen a bite at a time, lol.
Glad you are puttin some weight back on and workin it! Yeah, those leg cramps Are something else....

Toolshed looks great Steve. Hopefully you can find a hand or two to help tie things up before the snow flies!

In regard to your leg cramps, you might look into a Magnesium Lotion. Obviously make sure its right for you with everything else you have going, but it sure helped me!

I've known I'm very susceptible to leg cramps, especially when cabin building and pushing my body. I take magnesium and potassium every day to help with the cramps, but my wife found this magnesium lotion and it was the icing on top! I would just lather up my legs in the morning of my 16hr build days and it kept anything from cramping. Paid for itself and then some. Anyways, sounds like it might give you some relief if its in line with any restrictions you might have.

Best of luck - glad to hear you're on the way up

I'm not sure that would help the cause. I did drop to 112.6 lbs weight and my legs were toothpicks because of muscle loss and more. As I am filling out again and doing more & more, it is the muscles, tendons & ligaments all "rebuilding" as it were.
