My Pop passed away Aug. 29th at 12:10 pm.
This tool was custom made for him many decades ago.... It's a polish chainsaw. 🤔🙄
The guy that made it for him as a gag gift for being polish, gave him a lifetime guarantee, telling pop, he won't live long enough to wear it out. The guy was right.
Now it is mine. I probably won't use it much. But it will hang forever in my shop, then my son's shop, and so on.

He could of at least put on a chainsaw chain instead of a bicycle chain. Then it would somewhat work.

I don't like Polish jokes. Ever heard of The Polish Grom? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5V--ZFTcDrY This Polish guy will clean the floor with your face.

The tool is too cool. I would frame it and hang it up.

Sorry to hear about your dad. It sucks but gets easier with time and soon it will be mostly happy memories replacing the sadness

Sorry to hear about your dad. If my dad were still around, I'd definitely show him your Polish Chainsaw and he for sure would get a kick out of it. He'd probably then be making one for someone he knows to bust their balls too.

Definitely hang that over the workbench and think good memories.

Probably want to add a Bluetooth dongle or something when you are ready to pass it down to the next generation. LOL

As a simple "chain saw" item it is quite humorous.

As soon as the "chain saw" words are prefixed by the word "Polish" it becomes a derogatory, demeaning ethnic slur.

I am of a generation that grew up with ethnic jokes. As the object of ethnic jokes. My family reaches back a few centuries here in the SW. Many Hispanic and Indigenous American ancestors. A little Czech in there too.

You can imagine the sort of things I heard. We don't have to keep repeating everything our ancestors did.

My dad was very proud of his heritage. He had Pollock engraved on his bowling ball. We lived on a small farm, that he proudly had a sign made, naming it the Pollock Ponderosa.
I guess my dad wasn't as sensitive as you ICC.
But being as sensitive as you seem to be. I would think you would be thoughtful enough to not publicly piss on a harmless memory of my father. I have thick skin. So I know you probably didn't mean to be hurtful my friend.

I am proud to have Indigenous American and Hispanic ancestors the same as your Dad was proud to be Polish.

I believe you reading more into my comment than what is there. There is no way I was engaged in a "public piss" on him or anyone. Losing a family member is distressing.

To me calling that a Polish hacksaw implies that the Polish are dumb. Same as the lightbulb jokes that go around.

I meant no personal malice and thought it was okay to bring up the subject of what can be considered disrespectful names or terms.

That's it. I have no further public comments. If you desire to contact me for a more in-depth discussion on the subject I have an email listed in my profile.

Darz5150 My deepest condolences to you and your family.
How I wish my Dad had lived to see our cabin. He was a engineer in the Army.
He could build just about anything. I know our cabin would have been done sooner with his help. I miss him a lot.
