Hey guys,
We have our water system set up to pull from our lake. We currently have a uv light and 2 big blue filters for sediment and one big blue filter with a carbon block filter. We have really hard water so we are currently looking into a water softener.
When we fill our bath tub we see the water has a brown color to it. Would a chlorinator or hydrogen peroxide injector fix this issue with the color and clear it up? Its not the most appealing look when a bath water looks filthy.

its just tannins in the water (basically tea from leaves and pine needles). I believe Iron removal filters are fairly effective at removal of tannins.
I'm sure googling "tannin removal from water" will come up with lots of options.

I had to go to Russia three times on a Gov Project to protect Russian Biowarfare labs back in the late 90's. One trip to Siberia, we checked in to a hotel. The tap water and shower water was brown, smelled like rust. Evidently, the russian builder used iron pipes instead of copper. Every morning we met for breakfast, all of us smelling a bit rusty.

Chlorine will clear the water. If you are drinking it, you'll want to run it through a carbon filter after the chlorine treatment.

Ok. Thanks for the information guys.
Looks like i get purchase a softner with a tannin filter all in one. Has anyone used a tannin filter?
