Hi Folks, been reading here for a while and signed up.

When you get out far North in the bush do they bother you much on build cabins and permits?

The 150 acres of property we own has been in the family for over 100 years and we own all the timber and mineral rights on the land.

Thanks
Bushman

Hi Bushman,
My bunkie is on the Bruce Penninsula...but have lived / worked in Timmins, Kirkland Lake, etc.

I "think" the same rules apply re. building all across the province of Ontario...but...in your case, if there are no neighbours to bother or complain, since you're in the bush...you would have far less of a problem then many of us in southern Ontario who are trying to co-exist with homeowners.
A lot of communitie's bylaws are "complaint enforced"...so if you are a good neighbour that stays under the radar....

Hi bushbunkie,

Thanks for your help.

That looks like a nice area where you are at, good fishing with the cold water.

We are just East of Larder Lake, it is Gods Country. Not much for neighbors up in the Bush.

I see a lot of land up that way for sale "zoned RURAL with an AW WILDERNESS" where you can make a hunt camp bigger than 500 square feet.

alot of areas up there are 'unorganized townships' there are no permits required and such, you can do mostly whatever you want.. you have to check into your township.. most likely you can do anything you want where you are, how far away is your closest neighbour? and are they full or part time residents?

We built in a unorganized township in Northern Ontario and needed building permits. We don't have any neighbors.

Hey Bushman,
Is the Larder Lake Hotel still around?
I used to work in Kearns and spent many a night around the pool table at the hotel.
Great hunting up there...my buddies go regularly up there for Bear and Fishing.
