I know it is not about the "cabin" but I just went and picked up the stove that will be going in my cabin next year ;) It was too good a deal to pass up.. heh
It is a Model C Chambers stove, 1950-ish:
(sorry about the pics.. I already started taking it apart to restore it and clean it.. heh.. but it is all there!)

OMG!!!! Please tell me ,where did you find it? How much did you pay?
I LOVE Chambers stoves. This stove is so well insulated that you can turn the gas off and the oven will stay hot enough to finish cooking your food.
I can't use a Chambers in my cabin because I'm in Canada and it is not CSA certified. My insurance policy would be invalid if anything should happen and the propane company would not hook it up for me,it is illegal for them to do so.

Heh, well.. I paid $200 for it. I found it at a small ranch house outside of Waco, Texas. The guy had it listed on Craigslist and had a lot of interest in it, but he had promised it to me. Some woman tied to buy it out from under me by offering him more, but he saved it..for about a week and a half till I could go get it.
Wait till I get it cleaned up and all the parts cleaned of rust. It is actually in really good condition and, although I may re porcelain the grates, the oven etc does not need anything more than minor cleaning.
I plan to take all the internal items and remove them and re-paint them and grease the valves. I have about 4 months to spend cleaning it up and getting it read.
Here are some more pics (it is taken apart atm as I already started wire brushing parts.. heh):

My ex and I bought the same stove over ten years ago at an auction in KS for $65. Even the timer still works. She still has it. There are parts available on line if you need any. Refurbished, I've seen them sell for over $3000!
A little extra bracing in the floor under it is a good thing.

It weighs about 400 pounds due to the fire brick in the oven.
I love the griddle and broiler combo and the pot on the RHS cooktop where you can cook soup,stew,veges etc...
There is a Chambers Lovers web site with lots of info and photos.
I think you can buy a replacement cookbook on that site if your stove didn't come with one; so you can really bake with the stove as was intended.
Please keep us updated on the renovation of you beautiful stove!

Jr Barnard, are you a member of chambers stove lovers or fas site? I am. My chambers is in MN at my sisters barn. I am in AK. Hope to get it next year.

I am, but I decided not to add the Chambers stove as we were getting electricity already and the gas was one more added expense and problem I had to keep up with at the ranch. Being we are so far from anyone, having to keep propane on site was more trouble than it was worth so I decided to keep it simple and just use the electricity.
Love the old stoves though.
