Doesn't look like much yet, but coming from what was completely wooded, to having a trail wide enough to navigate with my truck or ATV... I've got a lot done.
This is my gravel road onto the property mainly for parking
This is my trail in towards the cabin location, if you follow the red line. The line as drawn covers about 100-125 yards
The ATV is sitting at the approximate end of the red line in the previous picture, but this image is looking back at the ATV in the direction of the road. Im in a bit further down the trail
This image is with me standing in the same spot as the previous picture, but looking further up the trail towards the eventual cabin location. The red arrow points to the cabin setting
The cabin will eventually sit on the hill in the background in this pic

Good looking trail you got started there, I can see the huskavarna has been busy!!!! are you planning on putting gravel on the whole road or just the entrance?? it looks pretty wet/damp as well, you gotta worry about flooding??

Just gravel on the entrance for the first few years, but eventually just past the wet spot. The ground the rest of the way in is firm during all the seasons. I uploaded a new pic below and this shows a little creek runoff that is what is causing the dampness in the area you see. My trail climbs in elevation after the creek runoff, and is on plenty high ground with no worries of flooding. I do have a pipe to go in there already where it will intersect my trail though, and will take care of that in a week or so, or maybe in the spring depending on whether or not this weather holds out for me. Trying to get as much work done as I can before we get 3 feet of snow....

Unfortunately I do not own any heavy equipment, so to answer your question, no. The driveway is 105 ft long, has driveway fabric down, a driveway pipe, and 5 loads of gravel. Compacted in place by heavy equipment after being put in place.

Dirt is very rich... has been wooded for who knows how long.. lots of years of decomposing foilage. The dozer guy said as he was dozing for the road, the dirt was falling right off the tracks, not sticking to it like a clay mix.

On Christmas Eve day, my son and I are going out to put the driveway pipe in place where that creek runoff drawn in blue, crosses the pathway in...

Did you and your son put in the pipe? Did it work out like you wanted it too? Have any pictures? The reason I ask is because I have a similar problem but I believe worse with my road. I plan on correcting it in the spring. I posted pictures of my mess resently if you want to take a look.

Unfortunately Cabingirl, winter set it... the ground is froze and so is my creek runoff.... lol
I have to wait til spring to do any water work... I'll go look at your pics though. The pipe works wonderfully though because if you look at the pic of my truck on the gravel, in front of my truck on the left side of the pic you can see the water flowing under the driveway... this is the same creek runoff that I am dealing with further up the road. Ive added a pic of the runoff under the driveway and how effective the pipe is...

Cabingirl, in the area of your road that is very moist, have them put down a piece of driveway fabric before covering it with stone. It prevents the water from leaching up through the top of the road and kind of forces it down, and away. Also prevents your stone from being pushed down into the ground as you drive over it more and more. That is what I did on my gravel drive under my truck. That area was as wet as the other area that needs fixing, until they did this method. Solid now....

spring is around the corner..... daffodil's are in bloom, after a 4 day rain all the pastures are starting to green up----all way to quick for january
