Rifraf Member	# Posted: 2 May 2012 16:11 Reply  Is there ? i cant think of any but ive never had my hand on one of those before, are they too weak to support dishes in them ? any reason why you cannot cut a hole and connect a drain ? i think its very rustic and in my opinion a better cabin sink than I can find at retailers for hundreds of dollars.

SE Ohio Member	# Posted: 2 May 2012 20:43 Reply  There is an old version of a galvanized tub that is square with rounded corners. It has a built-in drain with a smooth fitting for a rubber hose. My grandparents had a pair of these on a rolling rack. You might find them around still.
sparky1 Member	# Posted: 2 May 2012 22:03 Reply  Rubbermaid make them as well . rubber warmer than metal. Farm animal watering trough. I used to use the oval Metal one it had a drain--I'm a little guy---it was like a Olympic swimming pool. ha-ha-.it was just to cold-Tractor supply still sell them.
Montanan Member	# Posted: 3 May 2012 13:31 Reply  Absolutely LOVE the look of that bathroom with the watering trough! What a great idea! You can get those galvanized tubs in a variety of sizes. We have a couple of round ones around that we use for everything (cooler filled with ice, another for washing the dog, etc. They are water-tight. We've had no rusting or leaking problems. Hope that helps.
trollbridge Member	# Posted: 3 May 2012 15:47 Reply  We have a bunch of those tubs too and they are extremely handy! Down in the creek there is an old trough half buried in the creek bottom. I have always wanted to dig it out-I bet the bottom has rusted away-but I always pictured planting flowers in it. Now I am really dying to dig it outcause what if the bottom is intact????? larryh Member	# Posted: 27 May 2012 09:10 Reply  I have owned this small "siting" type tub for 50 years at least. I still use it for a bath now and then and is great to relax in by the stoves in winter. It only takes about a half a bucket of water as when you sit in it the water raises almost to the top which is plenty to cover your lower half. Pour a little hot water over the back an lay back and relax. You can either wash your feet and legs while sitting in the tub or place a small chair in front of it and wash your feet in the tub. Same for washing your hair, just lean over the tub and lift some water with your hands. The best part is due to the small water use its easy to lift and empty. I can pick it up by the sides and either pour it out from the rear back or from the side into a bucket and then toss it out. I always place a large oversized towel on the floor to protect it from splashing water while in and out of the tub. I don't know if this is still made since I have not seen them in years but I suspect they were common in latin america at one point if not still. Larry Galvanized "sitting tub".

Grandma Off Grid Member	# Posted: 8 Jul 2013 20:00 Reply  Put a oval rectangle type black rubber one in the bathroom plumbed it to the drain. it worked just fine yes it did leave a small amount of water maybe a fourth of a cup but there wasn't a big deal. can be wiped out with hand towel. I got it for $25 at Tractor Supply. it's plenty big enough for an average adult to sit in and bathe or hang a shower curtain with hooks on the ceiling and use it as a shower. its very lightweight but also very very sturdy. I have mine in the yard right now using it for a hot tub. its black so fill it with water in the morning on a hot day by afternoon is good hot even more if you can cover it
