Anyone going to there cabin for Fathers day Weekeend? After catching my first bass of the year two weeks ago and seeing the look on my dads face when i told him the story i knew we needed to head up for a weekend of fishing. Taking a half day from work tommorrow to head up to our cabin. Hoping to get all the yardwork and other chores done friday and fish as much as possible the rest of the weekend. I hope everyone has a great Fathers day!

I was on my way, but I just got a call from sis, she's full of cancer.
I'm not sure what to do. Just not go, I guess.

Sorry to hear you got that news Owen-pretty devastating. Maybe you should take your sister to the cabin for the weekend for some R&R and good memories. I'll keep her in my prayers.

Thanks for tthose thoughts. Her and my brother-in-law have the two forties in front of us and have a cabin I built for them. They havn't felt good enough to go there more than once this spring. I've been mowing for them.
You're right the woods would be good for them. Doc only gave her weeks.

Sorry to bring us all down. It's a big weekend for us fathers too. I have four grandchildren here now and we're busy. Probably not going to our cabin, but my home is a close second. With 7 1/2 acres, horses and lots of woods here off the main roads, we can play all day.

Keep your chin up Owen and make the best use of the time.

Your grandchildren will have a blast hanging out at grandpa's house---building contraptions would have kept my kids busy all day long! Every kid needs to try and build a go cart at least once in their lives! Brings back memories!

Yes , she past. sure was quick. I quess it was good for her , tough for her loved ones. She lived within a couple hundred feet of my wife and I. All of our kids were here. It was quite a day.
She was only 61. Dad , mom and now Sis. I'm the last.
She died before she had any grandchildren. Oldest boy, of two , forty just got married.

wow.that is sad.at least she is not in pain anymore.
my best friend just passed away june 8th.she had cancer.it was so weird.she could not eat and swallow and after alot of testing.they found a small tumor in her stomach.i sort of feel they were not very proactive in helping her.she starved for a month n a half and died.
her hubby called me to tell me.he was so heartbroken.it was hard to hear.it is tuff on the family for sure.
i am sorry to hear of your loss.and your family is in my prayers.

Awwww Owen,
My heart truly is breaking for you and your family. I am so sorry you didn't have a little more time. I will pray that you and your family all can find the strength you need to cope with such a sudden loss. Help each other grieve and draw that strength from your loved ones. Vent here whenever you need to-we may not "know" each other but we care.

Cabi....sorry to hear about your best friend. Life can be so difficult to deal with at times and so wonderfully beautiful at other times...
