I am Having a propane fireplace unit installed in my cabin. I currently use a wood burning stove to heat one half of the cabin, hopefully this new heater will allow me to heat the other half and i can invite more people to come up and enjoy the cabin in the winter. i am Getting it professionally installed by the place who is providing me with the propane and tank. all in cost for the fireplace, proprane, tank, and install is $750. I waited a year and the price went down 200 from last year thanks to the price of propane dropping. Its being installed in three weeks, will let people know my thought after i get a chance to use it.

I went ventless, i did some research and the vented is def a better option but my price went up like $2000!!! I only will use it for weekends and only when i have extra people up with me. I also ordered the blower so i am hoping that helps

Congrat's! I was actually just researching propane fireplaces. My hubby has one picked out but I was hoping to find something less expensive. We have looked at the direct vent wall mounted type.

Can't wait to see what you think of yours once installed

We have a direct vent propane fireplace in the family room of our home. I love it...with the push of a button whaalaa...fire! Push the button again and poof...out it goes! We added the blower fan about a year later if I recall correctly. That really helps to circulate the heat-the only thing I dislike about the fan is it is somewhat loud so we keep it towards medium to low speed. They do put out a nice amount of heat and they can be finished off so many different ways for an aesthetically pleasing look. We surrounded ours with old brick and a wooden mantel.

Well they installed the new propane Blue flame heater. Its awesome, lights very quicklyk i went with the blower option and it really helps to circulate the heat into different rooms. It was not that cold this weekend so i am not able to give a full reveiw. When its 15 degrees inside and i have to turn the heat on i will have a better idea of how well it works. But based on its performance so far i am very happy with the purchase

how long have you had your ventless heater and how does it perform? What size cabin and is it one room?

I have had it for about 8 months and its awesome. Its located in my main dinning room but heats a bedroom that is attached to it with an open door way. I also do not have to stock my wood stove as much because the heat from the propane stove help to heat both sides of my cabin. I could not tell you the exact size of my cabin but its got two bedrooms with each with a two double beds, two kitchens and two living rooms. the gas heater is well worth it, i may replace my wood stove with one when it finally kicks.

Its nice to just go up and turn on the heater and have it start right away. Its not like a stove where it needs to run for a few hours before the room is heated.
