Thanks, Guys! I'll speak for my departed Pops... 1936 - 1953 Army Air Corps. Spent WW2 in India flying the Hump. Berlin Airlift after that. Bless all you guys.

Thanks to all veterans, especially my Daddy, Master Sgt. WWII Japan. He's fighting sudden dementia right now and I would be grateful for prayers for him and my mom. They've been married 62 years!

thanks to my father too and all vets.he was a master sargent in the air force and was in viet nam.he is gone now but was quite interesting.

Just got back to the forum today, A day late but never without thoughts and prayers for our brave women and men in harms way protecting our nation. Forever my thanks you carry the standard now. US Navy retired 20 years Data Systems First Class Petty Officer.

You vets and current active duty and reservist have all my respect!

My father was in the Army. Instead of being drafted like many of his classmates during WWII he opted to sign up voluntarily so that he could pick the division(?) he was interested in and that way he was allowed to complete graduation from high school first. That decision very well may have saved his life because the war ended before he was sent over to fight. Many of his classmates were killed in battle and I can't imagine the horrible fear his parents endured during those years. He was their only child.

My brother in law will be returning from sea soon-he is in the Navy and has been out on sea duty for the majority of this year. I know my niece and sister are anxiously awaiting his arrival back safely to Hawaii.
