if industry was near that river i bet it was polluted just like russia but epa forced the industry to stop polluting and now its clean and the russian likes it

It's nice that we can all listen to each others point of view and still get along. If other countries could find a way to clean up their act environmentally our World would be a better place to live.
I look forward to the day when I can live where the weather suits my clothes 24/7; t-shirts, capris or shorts.

One thing that I'll bet we can all agree on (as well as probably just about every person that visits this website regardless of each person's view on global warming, cooling, super volcanoes, meteorites, asteroids, UFO invasions, and so on) and that is that we all want to be the best stewards of the land that we are in control of for a time, whether that's at our camps, our businesses, or our homes. I'll bet each one of us probably doesn't like it when we find trash on our land, or along the road in front of our land, and I'll bet that each of us does our best to make our land as clean and natural as we can while still being able to enjoy it. I'll bet that most of us wouldn't dump oil on the ground or down a storm drain (not because it's illegal but because of the effects it has and the fact that it is too easy to properly get rid of). I'll bet that most of us don't dump old tires or trash on our land or that of someone else.
And whether you believe in God or not, I'll bet that most of us still feel really blessed when we get to our camp and look around and know that we are at our special place.

Cabinbisquits is right and I agree with him. I know all of us are great stewards of not only out land, but all land, public and private. I know everyone in here is the type who will haul out others trash and not the types to dump it.
On a side note, here is a big contributor to soem CO2 and other polutants, but its all natual.

You are absolutely right, tmt, its all natural. Water is natural, too, but we can't live in it. Anything, in too large a quantity, can be harmful.
Around here, a farmer considers even one undesired plant, a pollutant in the wheat crop, and they use all kinds of chemicals to get rid of them.
One man's pollution, is another man's solution.

Right on, Bro - I'm a conservative non-global warming guy, but I've always taken care of 'my planet'. It's a treasure and I will leave it better than I found it....

Well, of course not, its not our natural habitat, but fish needs it to survive in their natural habitat. Can we live with an increase in CO2 from .038% of atmospheric gasses to .039%. I'm certain we can. Plants thrive on it. I live amongst the plants. In fact, plants and I share the same environment. 
There is some misconception if you are not buying the man made global warming hoax/tax scheme, you are a polluter. Where did this come from? I'd bet every member in here is a perfect steward of the land. I know we are all on that same page.

According to Nasa data (http://data.giss.nasa.gov/modelforce/ghgases/Fig1A.ext.txt).
CO2 has gone from 285 ppm in 1850 (start of industrial revolution) to 300 100 years ago to 390 today. 390 is considered well above the 330 maximum height (CO2 does seem to have a sine wave like max/min) seen over the past 3 million years. That's a pretty long time. And a seemingly significant new high.
But then acid rain SO2 was considered a hoax. Ozone layer reductions from chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) were considered a hoax.
Not to get all folksy. But when we were kids we picked up one piece of trash every hike we took (national park brat). Maybe CO2 could be our clean up project?
Well. Plus an electric truck exclusively powered by my 1kw solar system. How cool would that be.

They were saying on the radio the other day that like, 40% of people litter now, because there haven't been any public awareness campaigns for littering for decades now...

i have fond memories of the anti-littering campaigns when we were kids.
the park played movies on Sat. night. And ran anti-littering shorts to start. man we loved those things.

It simply puzzles me why we need an anti-littering campaign in the first place. As a little kid I learned not to litter from my parents and other grownups in our family and friends.
This (littering) is something we can do something about for certain. As for warming, who knows for sure. Conserving resources, especially fossil fuels, can't hurt though.

As a kid back in the 70's I learned , to litter, from my parents!!! As they (and by default I ) would make a game out of throwing their empty beer bottles out of the truck window as we were driving down the road. The object of the game was to see if you could get the bottle to break when it hit the ground on the side of the road. Fortunately a lot of their training did not stick with me.
Fortunately as I matured I ended up having better morals and ethics than my parents, and now I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing. Often when I find cigarette butts or trash on my lawn or land it makes me think about how lazy and self centered people have to be not clean up after themselves and dispose of their trash properly, and it pisses me off. If we can't get the simple stuff right???

From what I can see it is like Salmon, they run in cycles and the weather is much the same but in this case what humanity has done is accelerated that cycle through massive twenty four seven Carbon based emissions, throwing things out of kilter.
Either way humanity will reap what it sews and in the end the planet will be better off without them, remember what they say "It's Not Nice to Fool With Mother Nature".

Hmm-do you remember how littered our nation was? I do. Before bottle deposit laws etc...
Some parents do not teach their children not to litter and to respect our planet. Even today if I see a disrespectful person litter I say "litterbug" just like my Mom did and I pick up the litter and deposit it into a trash can.
Traveling the highways of our country I will never understand why male truck drivers will not deposit their pee bottles in a trash can. Some people are just slobs...

I seen something about that on the news one night, its amazing how many 1 gallon jugs full of yellow liquids the people pick up on the side of the highway. Ewwwwwww. Anyway, you can bet there will be some kind of law mandating holding tanks on interstate trucks if they dont use trash or restrooms etc.
