Can you built for 25 bucks a square foot if you didn't finish the inside. All steel siding and roof and built on posts above ground.

That is what it has cost you so far? That is not doing any inside work just a shell, window and door.

We've got 196 square on the main floor and about half that in the "loft".

Metal roof, t1-111, painted and primed three times, stairs, small deck, ramp off one side, stairs off another, metal roll door, CL windows, etc...

It cost $28.64/sq. ft if you don't count the loft, $17/ if you do...

I have gotten quotes, labor included for around $20/sf for a dried in shell only....but that was pole construction, no floor. Check this site out for approximate basic material costs (I think sheet goods have gone up quite a bit since then).

Not sure counting the loft should count. It is there really has cost you any more then the square footage that you built. Once you finish it would be a differant story. That is a good price.

I do have drywall done, so maybe a little less...suppose it could be done for $25, but I wouldn't count on it....

I enclosed my 450sqft cabin for less than $10,000 using Hardiplank siding, OSB underlayment, 16" centers, 26ga metal roofing, and 6X6 piers. Wiring, plumbing, insulation, and sheetrock cost another $3000.

The real money was spent on the heat stove, cook stove, refrigerator, and stuff like that.
