NOV 2013. Had a couple days to spare, Covered drain line, Insulation installed and firepit put in. A small winter blast came through. All we had was a Lil buddy propane heater, temps in the low 20s at night. Which makes it hard to get moving in am. Coffee sure does help.

Stove installed is a great feeling isn't it? Now you can also get rid of all your wood scraps and will be motivated to cut in downed trees at your place. Add that you what you already have to do huh? Place looks great, keep the pictures coming. Sarg68

Ok thanks I see it now. I pretty much know what I want to do except for the foundation and I think this would work very well for me on a smaller structure. Looks like you have 10' walls as well which is what I want.
Are the blocks dry stacked and do you have any picks of how you strapped it down, I can't picture that. Nice to see Pearl has a companion to lay with by the stove. Lucky dogs!

Straps are nailed 10 ft up cabin and then tightened. Blocks can be dry or rebar and concrete filled also layed like brick ..up to your preference. This was our best bet with the county codes and inspectors. They were very helpful in Polk county NC.

Pearls is with her sister (Ember) which a good friend owns.

Very interested in your water system. I have the same water tote. I'm in KY. Our weather is about the same. Any thoughts on freezing in the winter? Your cabing looks great. Ours is dried in waiting for warmer weather. Looking forward to your progress.

Going to cover in black plastic for non algae growth , and cover with heavy insulation leaving a 8-10'' air pocket on top for ice swell (overflow) if it does freeze it wont bust container. It will be totally enclosed. I have watched a lot of you tube for water harvesting for the ideas. This site had given me all the inspiration / knowledge to do this project. Thanks for looking.

JUN 2014 Deck build. Added a 160 SQ ft. Tin roof next weekend. Its going to be nice with extra shade and to grill outside when bad weather, also listening to rain hitting tin.
