Taiwin, I have a few questions that I hope you don't mind answering as I hope to add a rainwater collection system to my cabin this summer.
1. How do you use water from your collections system?
2. Other than the flush system you have, do you use any filters or chemicals?
3. Have you painted with an opaque paint or covered your tank to prevent sunlight from encouraging algae growth within the tank?

Rick004, the walls are 25 " and center of cabin is right ay 6 foot
Works for me bc I'm only 5'7"

Adakseabee, I have to apologize to your first for posting late.. Here's the answer to your question...
I'm using an rv on demand pump with a 0.5 micron filter and propane on demand hot water heater. All pex tubing were use. As for the water tote. I'm planning to build a cover for it or buy a larger poly black water tote to replace it. I add the appropriate amount of bleach to the tank monthly. I'm also planning to upgrade the filter to one that's has a UV light for sterization..

Composting toilet by separett, it's a urine diverting toilet. I install a 100 mm computer fan in line with the vent

Can you let me know how you find the composting toilet inside? We also are finishing a 12X16 and have a 3X4 closet set aside for this purpose. We may decide to do an outisde facility and place toilet in that.

Wow! We are in the planning stages and this is almost exactly what I'm going with.
What is that shinny horizontal piece between the siding? Where the 8' and the 2' meet.
Also, what roof pitch did you go with?

Any concerns with keeping the lp and the water heater in the same building?
I found your post after designing our building. Its almost identical except the 8x8 on the end. Nice design!
My lean to won't be as tall. I would like to keep the lp, water heater, filters and batteries in it but I'm worried about flame and lp/battery gases.

The lean to is vented on the side. Honestly I was a little concern at first but it seems to be working safely.

The attic ladder is very convenient, and saves a ton of spaces especially for a small cabin.

We have almost the same roof pitch. How's the head clearance at the top of the ladder?
Also, the ladders I see at Lowes and for heights starting at 7'11". My loft is about 6'8", assuming you loft is the same height, did that cause any installation issues?

My loft is 6'2" and I'm only 5'7" so it fits me well. I forgot how long my ladder is I just went with the longest one and cut to length
