rayyy, I can feel your pain! I've lived in upstate NY all my life (I'm of social security age now) and most of that time in the dreaded 'lake effect' zone where, as I am sure you know, God hath no mercy in winter. Those of you who heat with propane and fuel oil are sure hurting big time. Hang in there; better times are coming.

Coping with winter has been a serious issue for me for a long time. The only way I can handle this in my old age is to go south for the cold months.

I hope that isn't way TMI, but better times are coming, and I couldn't think of a better place to enjoy the summer months than in beautiful upstate New York!

Ouch - 2 feet more of snow?! I hope spring comes soon for you.

Here in the BC interior, many birds have come back. We still have snow, but it is melting. I want some warm weather - our electric bills (we heat with electricity) are through the roof! They went up 50% this year!!! Come on spring....

Here in NE TN, we have 60 - 70 degrees during day and below freezing at night. Poor trees!

We just got to the cabin for the first weekend since early December! Got back to find a busted valve on my water tank. Knew it might be a problem but thought I'd find a crack in the pipe and water dripping. It busted off half the valve and we lost all 150 gallons of water. supposed to snow here in NW Arkansas again tomorrow. So I said all that to say this: I agree! I'm sick of winter too.

Well we can finally see some grass. We've had snow cover since November. It's only the second time in the history of record keeping that snow has lasted that long around here.

I can "smell" spring in the air. Don't fret it will be here shortly.

It has been in the upper 60's for over a week here....almost hit 70 yesterday. Lows in the upper 30's and 40's.

The trees are budding and the daffodils are 4 inches out of the ground.

This morning we woke to steady rain. Over 2 inches expected before it is done later today. The temp is supposed to drop all day with the rain turning into an expected 6 inches of heavy, wet snow this evening and an overnight low of 15 degrees.

Tomorrow? Back up to almost 60 with 60's all through the week.
