I believe, including the property, I have about $4,000 into it. I dont think you can get the property much cheaper than I did but you could do better on materials. I did not bargain shop and could have cut some corners I am sure. I purchased my windows from craigslist which saved a ton. I am sure that anyone could save a bundle buying most of their materials off there. Especially, if you are going with the tiny cabin angle.

Nice weekend of work. Needed to get the stove in before winter. Turned out pretty well I think.

Hi brooksm29, I like the lil stove can I ask where did you find it and possible cost? I just finally closed on property in irons. I hope to get something going this spring up there, might just go with one of the premade sportsman cabins for now but we will see.

Its an HQ issue tent stove. Sold by Sportsmans guide and purchsed of Amazon for $100.00. They say is for outdoor use but It is going to work just fine inside. I have modified mine a bit to make it a little better to use at the cabin. Total uprades of about 30 bucks. First I put rope sealer on the inside of the door and sealed off the edges. Second I created a new handle because the one you get with the stove is kinda crappy. Third I lined it with stove bricks. You will need to assemble some of the stove and tighten some of the other bolts that are in it. VERY HAPPY with this stove. I wish I would have found it years ago.

Hi brooksm29,

I know this thread is over 3 years old so I an hoping you can still replay. I am wondering what did you use for the elbow on the stove and the stack there after to the outside? I am trying to install the same setup but can not find any pipe that fits this stove's odd pipe size...How has this stove and pipe setup been working for you....also your cabin looks great!

Hopeful for a reply,

That looks like double wall stove pipe. Its really the wrong chimney type to go through the wall if it is double wall.

Look up the clearance to combustibles for any pipe your looking at.
