An instant rebate of $50 has recently appeared at most of the online sellers making a EU2000i $950 shipped and in addition Northern Tools is now giving a $50 gift card for purchases over $500 and a $100 gift card for over $1000. I've been on the fence about getting one but I may now pull the trigger.

950 on the EU2000i is about rock bottom right now. I paid $899 for mine a few years back, no tax and included shipping. At that time Wise had them for $850.

I've been watching the prices for the last couple of months and was probably going to get one from Wise but held off wondering if there would be any Black Friday deals and came across Northern Tools free gift cards...pretty good deal if you're not in a sales taxable state and in the market for one.

There's a chain of stores in MN, MT, ND, SD, NH and NY called Runnings. They have a $100 off coupon for the EU2000i that is good today and tomorrow only.

Now I can't decide if I should get the companion one instead.

The companion have only one std plug and an RV plug. Output is the same (unless you parallel it with another, then you can use the full 30A RV plug, to run an AC unit etc). It doesnt have the 12V battery charger which IMHO is a waste. I would just plug in a battery charger to charge a battery. I would not get the companion unless you want to run a pair of them. So get the std one, then if you want to run a second parallel, then buy the companion as your 2nd generator. Its about $100 more anyway.

Oh, Mossy Oak cammo can be had for $200 extra too.

Thanks...I wonder how many of the camo one's they sell, I'd prefer it but not at the $200 premium.

I had been looking into both Honda and Yamaha inverter gennys for a while...Yamaha because of your posts but the deal breaker for me with Yamaha was that there are no service/repair options in my state but many for the Honda. The run time you have with your Yamaha 1000 is incredible.

Hey, service if you need it is uber important and no matter what you plunk down, both are great products so you can't go wrong either way!

Thanks for that link Don. I'd rather have $50 more off than the 50 gift card. Just ordered one.

Chuck, make sure you give a full report after you get it and use it. Did you get the regular or the companion?

I know bidding on a used Honda on Ebay is a waste of time. These people wind up paying more for them than a brand new one would cost.(900 bucks pluss free shipping is the best deal out there for a eu2000i.

I get ebay emails every morning on honda 1000 and 2000's. Like you say you can buy new for a hundred or two more why take a chance on an ebay generator.
