I would drill a water well, and this would SO be in my (much larger) cabin bathroom! (But since that isn't going to happen, it will be the corner shower surround and RV "Body Spa" shower head instead, haha!)

What "fancy" creature comfort would you put in your cabin if money was no object?

Julie, I have a claw foot bathtub on my house when we bought our 1850 farmhouse to renovate 10 years ago the tub was already here and on great condition. I love my tub! When filled my entire body is submerged under the water but the tops of my knees! ( it's so big me and hubby can fit in it together )

If money was no object I would build a wrap around porch on my already existing cabin with all the things I would ever want on it. A gas grill, a swing facing the west to watch the sunset, and a new picnic table to eat dinner on.

Yeah, Julie, I remember you had your eye on that tub on another thread. Nice!

If I won the lottery (pretty hard since I don't play) I'd build a bigger cabin back by our new pond and live in it full time. I'd use our little cabin as a retreat/studio and give our farmhouse to the kids. Something like this.

That sounds lovely, Sandy!!!!! I'm hoping that when whatever excavation is done for my cabin (and those stupid tests pits for the septic evaluation, grrrr), enough rock will be unearthed for me to do a small outdoor stone fireplace so I can put a metal grate on it and cook! Those old clawfoot bathtubs are MAGIC. They don't make anything comparable nowadays, IMO.

Rmak, I just found this tub today so 'twasn't me who posted it previously! I'm sick in bed and kind of in "what if" mode today, haha. Your wish sounds amazing!

Personally, I wouldn't build bigger and I don't want my offspring moving on my land, lol. Actually, I'm caught up in "failure to launch" syndrome and he keeps moving back home! So, I had to look at the reality of the situation and the rest of my life and decided that mama needs to "run away from home" and follow her dream if the kid (read 27-year-old) can't seem to figure things out. I want a place that is comfortable now and one that I can maintain fairly easily into old age.

Shoot, on the rare occasion that I buy scratch-off tickets, I don't even win $1 but it's fun to dream!

Sorry, Julie, it was not you. The thread "interior inspirations" has that same tub in a cool bathroom. Check it out.

MegaMillions was 270 mil a couple of days ago, that's a take home of about 65 mil. Could get several clawfoots.

I have an old clawfoot, I love it. I turned the overflow thing upside down and it holds a couple inches more water than when it has the oepning at the bottom.

If I won the lottery, I'd have Yellowstone Traditions work me up a plan. It would have weathered logs, stone work all over, a gazebo in the yard for outdoors cooking and fires. There would be a stone fireplace in the bedroom, a well designed one that actually makes useful heat, another one on the outside, all hardwood and tile floors, some stained glass, full basement with underground shooting range for winter use, handbuilt doors, a small log and stone barn, with two or three horses, a couple Highland cattle, scads of trees all over the place, a small fish pond (trouts live in the creeks and irrigation dtiches). I need a two car garage, stone on the bottom half, weathered log above. Rusted corrugated steel roofing, all windows traditional styled multi-pane, with thermopane insulated glass.

Other than that stuff, nothing special.

wife's co workers remodeled a old farm house and had a perfect claw foot tub sitting on her porch...she asked he about it..said please come get it off her porch...this was about this time last year. Took 3 of us to load it...so heavy!!

Its still in her flower garden where she want to make a fish pond out of it. I told her if it comes up missing it will be on the porch at the camp...as a redneck Jacuzzi .....

I've thought about a spare tub outside as a summer bathtub. Would be fun.

I have a 6' fence around most of the yard close to the cabin.

Since this thread started I have also thought about a redneck hot tub. I would use something dark that would retain the heat of the sun that I could soak in.

I didn't win the lottery. Claw foot tubs can be found for a good price. One just needs to keep looking. Here is mine in my outdoor shower. If I won the lottery the mega millions,I would finish our cabin, help my family, help a few members on here that have the dream of a cabin but no or not enough funds and go
on a around the World cruise on The Queen Elizabeth.LOL.

That's a beautiful dream, cabingal. I'd love that as long as the wood lot would be big enough to get away from the kids too sometimes.

Whoosh! Don't let the water slosh about too much! LOL.

Amen to that, cabingal3!!!! As long as the homes were in another state -- or across a state, haha! I would LOVE to know what it's like to buy a half-gallon of ice cream and get more than 2 scoops of it!
