Irrigation guy, I hear you on the wife ideas. Always seem to be the most expensive. But gotta keep them happy. We spent more because we knew we were going to move to cabin at some point.

When I did the calculations (pre covid) our 20x32 cabin with porch and two large lofts will cost about $5k for a dried in structure. I have been collecting and milling my own lumber for this project for 4yrs..well before we even owned the property.

Ops sorry 3 rows of sono tubes. I believe 18 of them. 12inx4ft. Metal gambrel roof, windows (used) and two new entry doors included. Siding wasn't included as we dont know what kind we are going to use.

Brettny sounds good. Will you be planing any of the lumber or using a hand plane just at certain areas that need it ?

I'm going to plane all the edges of the wall studs.

yes but would it pass inspection?
Doesn't it have to be a certain minimum square feet?
How about a metal home or a tuff shed with two stories? And they build it for you for free.

How?
I want to do it too.
Tuff Shed would charge $30,000 for that.
How can I do it?

Tuff shed builds shed not cabins. There walls are usualy 2x3 if I remember correctly..also this pricing was pre covid. The best thing to do now is to wait and save your money.

I have a 28x34 under roof including porches, which are covered due to snow loads.

My father is a contractor and we did all the work, from foundation to trim by ourselves. We built from 2015-2020, where we finished the outside. We have electrical and plumbing ran inside. We still need to insulate and finish the inside.

We're at 30k so far.
