Tiny tiny little 14" tv that has built in DVD player, all in one unit. Kids use it when it's raining, to watch movies every now and then. Never tried to get reception, but since I don't really get cell phone coverage, I doubt I'll get any channels - probably never even try. Watch enough TV at the main homestead already.

46" TV, I watch netflix movies and I have an antenna hooked up. My team is out of the playoffs now so I don't watch it often.

I'm in the middle of the mountains in NY, 80+ miles from the nearest tv transmitter, but just for yucks I threw up an ancient antenna that someone gave me just to be rid of it. I get 2 US digital channels and sometimes 2 fuzzy CDN analog channels. I'm happy but I'm going higher up to see what's available. Don't watch TV much up there but it's become a personal challenge to see what I can get.

Yes I do, nice clear digital picture. Its the free TV, antenna is hidden in my attic, pointed to mountain peak where signal comes from 3 miles away. I can tel you the free tv is loaded with commercials. I have probably a dozen channels. Here it is, one in the AM watching morning news. Seem this clown on TV was drunk along with his dad, got in an argument and shot and killed his dad with a rifle. This was an APB/manhunt photo. They caught the clown.

No tv for us. We might reconsider once we're retired and spending 6 mos. out of the year at "The Last Resort". For now we are enjoying nature and solitude.

We do too. Antenna on the roof pulls in all the major networks and I get free WIFI from work so we can watch a little Netflix, etc. and a little work done here and there if needed. Not much TV watching in the summer unless the kids are with us and after the smores are eaten and they are winding down for the night.

This set up helped make the decision to cut the cable at the house. We do have wireless through our cable provider at home but went back to an antenna and wireless and savings of a $100 a month. Well worth it, just no sports unless they are on a major network.

Yes... Watch it at night before bed and the morning news on occasion... its a small 19" flat screen. We get 12 channels I think. I can take it or leave it.. I would rather gaze upon my meadow and listen to the birds.

No TV, but we do watch movies off the laptop at night. I really don't miss it when I'm there.

I watch some tv shows online, and watch movies with the computer. No tv. I listen to the radio quite a bit, NPR mostly, no stinkin commercials! Get news from the radio and computer, and seek stuff out thats of interest.

Was anyone else keeping up with events in Kobani last fall? Or events in syria and Iraq about ISIS? Did folks know that about 1/3 of the Kurdish fighters that kept ISIS out of Kobani were women? ISIS seemed unstoppable until they kit Kobani. Been pretty interesting learning about that. Some amazing women, and the Kurds in general are pretty unusual. I dont think theres been much TV coverage, but quite a bit in online sources.

Most of my time is spent watching the Firepit. I do have a TV and an old VCR/DVD player for those rainy days or cold nights to curl up and watch a movie. The rest I could care less, I'll catch up if and when I get home. haha

I have a small 25" Samsung that I get about a dozen digital channels on. I also digitized my entire movie collection to a portable hard drive that works directly with the Samsung. Both of these only consume about 25 watts from my small solar power system.

I was hesitant to get a TV for the cabin, but the ability to get weather forecasts and watch current radar have been very beneficial. I will typically only watch the TV for entertainment at night for a while before bedtime.

I've found the local library often have some good selections of videos. I got hooked on a couple different TV shows. If the local library didnt have it in a complete season, they could often borrow it from another one for $3 shipping. Watching it once was usually enough, so I didnt feel much desire to own them.

Once I figured out I could watch DVD's on my computer I havent used anything else in years. Many TV shows are also available online either from the original network, or on some other online carrier. Sometimes they're free, sometimes they cost. Some current series cost if you want to watch them the first week they come out, but are free after that first week. Some have pretty good archives of past seasons to watch.

Youtube often has TONS of older tv shows. They often have either full versions or clips of new stuff.

No tv or computer - everyone has been warned if they show up they go right in the lake - No questions. Cell phones are barely tolerated!

Went to town and an old book store had vhs/and dvd's.
We got 12 vhs tapes for 5 bucks!
I am really guarded about sittingbinside on a beautiful day.
We have had so much rain-it was really fun to watch a little tv!
Next an hd channel antenna!

We have a tablet that we use for looking through the week's trail camera cards. And if it is not nice outside we have some old tv series loaded on it that we watch. Last couple of years it was the complete series of Gomer Pyle. Now we have started the Beverly Hillbillies. And we also have "One year and forty acres" by Robert Long. It is a 12 part documentary, each episode is a month, of nature observations on their acreage in southern SK. Quite enjoyable. This series was our inspiration for trying our little project.

Hi Creeky

I had to order the series directly from his film production company, Waterhen Film Productions Ltd. Balgonie, SK. A Google search will bring up the address.

He also did a one hour show on the series which has some interesting insights on things.

I find he has a refreshing approach that makes the often overlooked ordinary aspects of nature special.

thx bugs. I like the "Waterhen Film" bio online. Employees - 1
He's done a lot of interesting work. And I'm a fan of refreshing. (not to go completely off topic)

For those looking at antenna: this was recommended to me by a CB guy who has dozens of antenna. The 8 bay was less than 50 bucks at a discount place. The CB guy replaced a great big antenna with a similar model and claims it got all the same channels. Height and a clear view are your friends apparently.

Lol. along with proximity to the sending towers. Rats I miss all three.

we told him we want to get the hd channel antenna.he said they dont work out here.wah...
he said he has a closet full and they dont work for us here.well i thought i guess we will stick to a vhs or dvd movie now and then cause our tv and vcr are hooked up.so i dont think i am sad the news is not coming into our peaceful woods.

I do not have one yet.. have not built the table for it to sit on but plan to get a flat panel 32" and hook up a dvd player to it and the DVR camera system so we can watch the cameras at the front gate if we want to. We also will have an AppleTV so we can view the deer cams on it.

We could, technically watch Netflix, for the kids.. but we will ban that when the weather is good.. lol

Gotta get out and play during the day!

Don't have the cabin built yet but, yes, I will have a TV and likely a DirecTV bundle with sat. internet. I'm a writer and I hope to earn a few bucks through freelancing. It would be rather difficult to do that if I didn't know what was going on in the world from a variety of news sources!

I wish that the area was wired for Verizon FIOS so I could bundle with my cellphone package and just buy a small block of channels that I watch for less money. But such is life in a remote area, eh? Satellite services are the only option, at present.
