So, Cabi was picking wild currants a couple days ago, and came across this fat little guy.

Any idea what kinda grub this is?

Rather cute in a sorta grubby way

horney little fella ain't he. wonder what kind of butterfly or moth he is.

those yellow horns are probably the give away. I'd say Cecropia. Looks to be just getting started out in life. Should double in length.

Hey. you've got a new pet.

I was going to say that he would be delicious with Sweet Baby Rays but I won't.

Cute... huh?... really? Personally I think it looks disgusting. If you stepped on that thing it would probably stick to your shoe like a wad of old gum.

But when you see what they turn into, you can see why I don't do that (image courtesy of Wikipedia):

Hmmm on 12 Grain with crunchy peanut butter fer that little "extra goodness" hehehe

Working on the property this summer has been a real treat with the vast variety of butterflies... The colours and patterns are so beautiful, nothing beats Mother Nature. Everything went back to wild this summer so the property is filled with every kind of flowering whatever and it's a haven for critters, heck, there's places where the grass is as tall as I am (5'10").
