For me it's a wait and see for changing or improving the solar as last seasons problems were due to an error in my charge controller settings where input power was set to low, once corrected it was like the floodgates were opened.
If all goes well, no changes will be needed on that end.

Where I am in Western Washington we are overdue for a hard winter which would be a nice change as the past three winters have been non starters but I am currently looking for property to re locate to but not buy, preferably as a property manager.

How bout you?

I'm finishing. Been doing interior finishing. Now I'm on summer loaf about. And then in the fall I'll do exterior finishing.

I'm hoping, after last year was hot every where in the world but at my place. Yup. My property was a dark blue blot on an otherwise red heat map (if NASA can be trusted). That this winter will be mild. El Nino is supposed to on, that usually means a warm dry winter for us. Fingers crossed.

good luck with yer search.

We have had two very hard winters. Worst I've seen in 40 years. I'd like a mild winter this year.

We need to just hanker down and find a ladder that will allow us to insulate the ceiling before hunting season. We lose so much heat out of the roof. Finding that tall of a ladder is a pain.

Do like I did and put a drop ceiling in which creats a nice attic area and makes insulating easy.

I have two kind of biggies planned.

First, I am redoing my propane lines underneath. I don't have a trunk line for a feed so I'll be installing that and then reconnecting and adding new branches.
With the help of several on this forum (thanks, again, guys) I have the courage to proceed.

I'm also planning to meet with a solar installer to consult about upgrading my almost 20 year old system. I'm not going nearly to the extent that you have, creeky, but I think I could use newer equipment and a battery upgrade. I'd say that almost 20 years on my agm battery bank is more than should have been expected.
So, I will be re-reading, printing out, and studying everything you've ever posted here, along with others, in the hope that I will be able to comprehend it.
That, along with recommendations from the installer should give me an idea of where I want to go.

My goal is to get the piping as close to done as possible this fall. As to the solar, as many have suggested, might be better to do incrementally starting with new panel and controller (and maybe associated wiring).

Build garage/shed so I can store my goodies and move my woodshop to the cabin. My woodshop has been in my dad's basement which was huge, my basement isn't and its almost impossible to bring wood down my winding staircase.

Dad died over a year ago now and I finally got the estate settled. I expect to have a closing on his house this week.
Moving the shop to the cabin is perfect. My wood lot is loaded with oak and I have many close by Amish saw mills for rough lumber

I have finished my log cabin sauna/bunkie aside from a few minor details. This summer we plan to relax and enjoy the place! There is always lots of clean up to do though, especially after cutting down so many trees for my build!
