Well, do ya?
Perhaps there's a story or two to be told
I stopped by my taxidermist's to chat tonight. He showed me a pic from his trail cam of something he captured a week ago. His camera is 5 feet off the ground and the pic shows some sort of furry creature with course hair.
Too close to tell what it is.
He's a little nervy..
I'm very skeptical. Until someone comes up with a body, I will consider Bigfoot a mythical creature.
Still, the forest is dark. The stories and "evidence" can haunt and those strange noises are eerie.
I wonder..

I do, but I also believe in M-Theory and extra-dimensional nexus points. It's funny really as you'd think simply believing in 'Bigfoot' is where I'd lose people.

I saw Bigfoot last summer. I sprained my ankle, you should have seen how big it got.

Not at all. With all the people looking and all the game cameras out and still not one decent picture. Not possible in my mind

So this was 30 feet out my back door. It must be Bigfoot

or a bear track I almost stepped on

I saw Harry and the Hendersons, you bet I do! And the Easter Bunny and Tooth fairy. Just wish there was a Hair Fairy.

The night is dark and full of terrors...

But, (quoting Wikipedia here):

Bigfoot is alleged to live in regions unusual for a large, nonhuman primate, i.e., temperate latitudes in the northern hemisphere; all recognized apes are found in the tropics of Africa and Asia. As with other proposed megafauna cryptids, climate and food supply issues would make such a creature's survival in reported habitats unlikely. Great apes have not been found in the fossil record in the Americas, and no Bigfoot remains are known to have been found. The breeding population of such an animal would be so large that it would account for many more purported sightings than currently occur, making the existence of such an animal an almost certain impossibility.

Which, although most certainly true, is a bit of a bummer for those of us who would like there to be some mystery left in the woods...

I met a guy once who said that Bigfoots (Bigfeet?) travel by means of large glass bell jars, with which they can travel to other planets. The guy who said this lived on another planet, I think, though he lived next door. He seemed to be enjoying his fantasy. Who am I to judge?

Native stories from our neck of the woods tell of a big foot/Souie Appoo/Sasquatch/Stenwyken/Devil/big men of the mountains. We have an area that is referred to as "Sasquatch Castle". I dunno....

Back in my drinking days I woke up next to a female bigfoot.
Whatever you do do not tell her she looks like Harry from harry and the hendersons.
She has no sense of humor and packs a mighty big wallop

Fun book, The Long Earth, by Terry Pratchett. Slightly related to the concept you described, only no glass bell.

Truly, very fun book series. If anyone ever had pioneer fantasies, and/or liked sci fi, theyd probably enjoy them.

Here's a link to the Patterson-Gimlin film, 60 seconds of film shot in 1967, supposedly of a bigfoot.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJjUt2sXo5o

Wikipedia has a long article on this film, which has been analyzed by numerous 'experts', many of whom assert that the creature shown in the film could not possibly be a man in a monkey suit because of the proportions of it's bodily dimensions, etc. But, numerous people have come forward with stories of having participated in the fraud, including the man who supposedly wore the suit and the person who sold the suit to Patterson. Some of the experts believe in Bigfoot but think the film is a fraud.

Interesting, this Patterson fella.
Supposedly he went down to the river bottom to do a fake Bigfoot shoot. Low and behold a real one happened to walk by.
Lucky him.
You'd think he'd fess up to a hoax. But he took it to the grave, even on his death bed he claimed the footage was authentic.
I have to admit, if Patterson's Bigfoot was a big guy in an ape suit, it was a darn good suit. Even in today's era of technology, nobody has been able to duplicate a suit that even comes close to that of the Patterson one.
I mean, if you look close at the Patterson footage, you can see the leg muscles flexing as "she" walks.
Remarkable, a suit with that much detail, made in '67.

Not me...I'm still hoping that I'll get Hypotrichosis, even this late in the game.

My wife heard screams coming from our woods before dawn one morning, about 8 years ago, when she was leaving for work. We went back to the woods afterwards to find saplings and brush interwoven around big trees and making types of makeshift shelters by a stream. I took a few of my buddies and my son out to look at these "structures". No one could figure out how they could have been made naturally with fallen branches in a storm or some other explanation.

We talked to a guy who follows the Bigfoot stuff and he says these are nests, that the creature follows streams and screams like someone being killed. Googling Bigfoot nests shows a bunch of similar structures. I've lived here for 30 years. I've never seen anything like it before or since.

I am not saying I'm a believer and I'm not saying I'm not. I've told this tale a number of times and I always say I really don't care if anyone believes me or not. I can't imagine anyone spending the time in our woods to create something like these structures as a hoax. That is almost as unbelievable as believing in the Bigfoot since it would take great effort, would have to be done at night and without making any noise that would get the dogs in the area barking.

That's my story.

The Hollow Earth.

http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/tierra_hueca/tierrahueca/Chapter1.htm

HEY! GUESS WHAT? The earth is hollow. Yes, it is. Ever open the top of a washing machine while it's on spin cycle and hold down the little lever that keeps the machine running even though the lid is open? The water and clothes are all pushed to the outside surface of the spinning drum by centrifugal force.

Same thing with a planet. The hot molten material is pushed outwards by the planets spin, while gravity pushes inwards from the surface. Thus, you get a cool crust on the outside and a hollow core with a cool crust on the inside. Apparently the US government sent Admiral Byrd to the poles to make contact with the people that live on the interior of the planet.

YUP, it's true.

I don't, but I know someone who does! I was watching a doc on bigfoot and to my surprise a guy I knew in the military(1980) was on the program (Mark Steinberg) not sure of the spelling or the first name. I don't think he made it past basic. He was working with some Dr. in BC, they were a match made in heaven, Mark wanted to shoot the thing on site and the Dr wanted to capture it lol. I saw the Doc about 10 yrs ago.

Well, I do think that if anyone feels they must buildon piers then the Bigfoot pier footings are a help. Still not code, but an improvement over many alternate methods we see used.

According to the website, they have an ICC evaluation. So building departments can accept them. It's just a concrete form.

Some woman in Virginia called 911 saying she saw bigfoot and a baby bigfoot! It must have been a woman from WV who came over the border.

Exactly. A form with provision for easy attachment to tubes.

But read section 5.3 of the ICC report. see jpg image... most jurisdictions likely need a stamped engineers report as well. back to the same old, same old when it comes to code and piers for residential use. Bigfootsystems didn't lie, they simply leave the purchaser to read carefully.

(sorry if my attempt at humor puts the topic off track, but....
